**Key Responsibilities**:
Billing Operations: Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and patients. Verify patient info, insurance coverage, and medical codes (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS).
Insurance Coordination: Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, investigate claim rejections, and resubmit or appeal claims as needed.
Payment Posting & Reconciliation: Post payments, reconcile accounts, and assist in month-end activities.
Data Entry & Documentation: Maintain accurate billing records, generate reports, and ensure proper documentation.
Compliance: Ensure billing complies with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, and stay current with coding and payer requirements.
**Qualifications**:
Education & Experience: High school diploma required; Associate’s degree in healthcare or related field preferred. Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience.
Skills: Strong knowledge of medical coding (ICD-10, CPT), attention to detail, proficiency in billing software (e.g., Epic, Kareo), and Microsoft Office.
Certifications: Certified Medical Billing Specialist (CMBS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred.
