Client: Our client is a integral cruise company that offers itineraries to nearly 500 destinations worldwide. In addition to the cruise, the company offers supplementary hotel and flight bookings.
- Responsibilities: Solution Design: Analyze business and technical requirements to architect scalable, resilient, and efficient solutions tailored for the travel domain. Generate, assess and present technical alternatives for solutions architecture and development
- Cloud Infrastructure: Design and implement cloud-native solutions on AWS, ensuring cost optimization, security, high availability and disaster recovery
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance to development teams, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and best practices
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and business leaders to ensure technical feasibility and business alignment
- Code and Architecture Reviews: Perform and oversee code reviews to ensure maintainable and quality software design
- Scalability and Performance: Architect solutions capable of handling high-traffic environments, particularly for travel bookings, searches, and customer interactions
- Integration Management: Design integration strategies with third-party travel platforms, APIs, and services
- Innovation: Stay up to date with the latest technologies, tools, and industry trends to propose innovative solutions
- Requirements: Strong experience in Java (or Scala) for backend development
- Strong knowledge of system design, distributed systems,
enterprise architecture integration patterns and data architecture
- Expertise in designing cloud-native architectures using AWS (e.g., Lambda, S3, EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, SQS, SNS etc.)
- Proficiency in microservices architecture and RESTful API design
- Proficiency in data models design
- Solid understanding of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS)
- Experience with event-driven architectures and message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, SNS, SQS)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Fluent ability to create solution architecture diagrams and solution design documents
- Fluent ability to provide technical decomposition of designed solutions and estimation justified by documented assumptions list
- Skilled in Node.js ecosystems and, and multiple programming languages (including Python, Ruby). Ideally, has touched on Next.js.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and lead technical teams.
- Good level of understanding and hands-on experience with all stages of SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle)
- Nice to have: Travel Domain Expertise
- Certification in AWS Solutions Architect or similar cloud certifications
- Knowledge of front-end technologies and frameworks to understand end-to-end solution impact
