**Position Summary.**
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
**Product Design and Development**:
- Design and validate filter products (buy or make decisions), defining Bills of Materials (BOM) to meet performance specifications (e.g., filtration efficiency, structural strength, flow characteristics).
- Conduct Design Validation Plan & Report (DVP&R;) activities to ensure product reliability and compliance with customer and international standards (ISO, SAE).
- Utilize SolidWorks for 3D modeling, print elaboration, reverse engineering, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T;).
- Support Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) simulations and patent workarounds when feasible.
**Process Engineering and Quality Assurance**:
- Leverage know-how of process audits and root cause analysis to support troubleshooting and quality improvements.
- Support updates to quality systems to align with APQP and PPAP requirements.
- Utilize knowledge of Measurement Systems (MSA) and testing equipment procedures to validate samples and ensure design accuracy.
**Data Analysis and Project Management**:
- Manage product and project data in shared drives, ensuring accurate documentation and accessibility.
- Design and execute DOE, track trials, analyze results, and present findings to stakeholders.
- Handle multiple part numbers simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet project timelines.
- Support NPIs by collaborating with production teams to ensure seamless integration of new products.
**Collaboration and Communication**:
- Work with international multidisciplinary teams, including suppliers, to align on design and quality objectives.
- Engage with OEM and aftermarket customers during plant visits and technical reviews, providing engineering support.
- Demonstrate a proactive, self-guided, and service-oriented mindset, delivering data-driven solutions for internal and external customers.




**Qualifications and Experience**:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years in product or process engineering, preferably in automotive filtration or manufacturing.
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, and quality documentation processes.
- Familiarity with international standards (ISO, SAE) and customer-specific requirements.
**Technical Skills**:
- Proficient in SolidWorks for 3D modeling, print creation, reverse engineering, and GD&T.;
- Knowledge of Control Plans, FMEA, Process Flow Diagrams, and MSA to support design and validation activities.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office and data management tools; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
- Desirable: Experience with CAE simulations, Six Sigma Green Belt (or equivalent), and patent analysis.
**Soft Skills**:
- Fluent in English (written and verbal) for effective communication with global teams.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Collaborative and service-oriented, with a focus on internal and external customer satisfaction.
