**You Are**:
**The opportunity**:
- Database Administration: Manage, configure, and maintain Oracle databases, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
- Performance Tuning & Optimization: Work on performance tuning of queries, indexing, and database optimizations to ensure fast and efficient data access.
- Backup & Recovery: Develop and maintain robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Data Warehousing Support: Provide expertise in data warehousing technologies, especially with experience in Netezza, Greenplum, Teradata, and similar platforms like Vertica.
- Capacity Planning & Scaling: Monitor database growth and assist with scaling strategies, ensuring databases can handle growing data volumes and meet business requirements.
- SQL Query Optimization: Design and implement best practices for SQL queries to optimize performance and reduce system load.
- Collaborate with Development Teams:



Work closely with development teams to design database structures and improve database architecture.
- Automation: Automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency for database maintenance and monitoring.
- Data Integrity & Security: Ensure data integrity, data migration, and manage database security policies, including user access and encryption.
- Documentation & Best Practices: Maintain comprehensive documentation for all database management procedures, policies, and system configurations.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide timely support and troubleshooting to resolve database issues, ensuring mínimal disruption to business operations.
This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.
**What you need**:
- Required Technical Skills: Oracle Database Administration (DBA): Proficient in administering and supporting Oracle databases.
- Data Warehousing Technologies: Experience with Netezza, Greenplum, Teradata, or Vertica platforms.
- SQL & Performance Tuning: Strong SQL skills with the ability to optimize queries, indexes, and database configurations.
- Backup and Recovery: Hands-on experience with database backup, restore, and disaster recovery methods.
- Scripting & Automation: Familiarity with scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Perl for database automation.
- Capacity Management: Proven experience in capacity planning, database scaling,



and managing large datasets.
- Monitoring Tools: Experience with database monitoring tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Nagios, or CloudWatch.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Other Database Platforms: Familiarity with Vertica, Netezza, Greenplum, or Teradata is highly desirable.
- Database Security Management: Understanding of database security concepts, such as user roles, encryption, and auditing.
- Cloud Technologies: Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, or Google Cloud SQL.
- Certification: Oracle Database Administrator certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)) are a plus.
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA or in a similar role, particularly within a data warehousing environment.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
