**Danfoss Mexico** is seeking a **Trade Compliance Supervisor** to manage the Importation and Exportation Areas, ensuring Customs Compliance, border crossing of raw materials, finished goods, equipment, inventory reconciliation, auditing pediments and US entries, duty payment for products, USMCA benefits on all products, classification under Harmonized Tariff Schedule, and ability to I/E (productive and nonproductive) products according to Mexican and US regulation. You will exceed the expectations of internal and external customers regarding on-time delivery, quality, and timely decision-making.
**Responsibilities**:
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
- Ensure integrity in Trade Compliance existing and new processes in campus operations.
- Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) Classifications Skills USA/Mexico.
- Monitor daily operations of import/export raw materials, finished goods, equipment, scrap, non-productive material, and excess and obsolete (ENO) processes.
- Maintain valid information & audits in the Import/Export System (Interfaces, Operation’s Report, I/E Modules, BOM’s, Product Values & Costs, Country of Origin, USMCA Certificates or Manufacturer Affidavit, Duty Payments, Reglas Octavas, Prosecs).
- Oversee the Mexican Vendors Invoices (Pedimientos Virtuales) and SubMaquilas.
- Maintain electronic & hard copy records of Customs Operations for Mexico and USA (Pedimentos, USMCA, US Entries, Packing List, BOM’s).
- Coordinate and monitor logistics of all shipments (empty trucks, short trucks, full trucks between Reynosa and Pharr and also Mexican shipments). Includes MX SAT review of exported goods.
- Provide required information through internal reports weekly and monthly from Customs Operations.
- Inventory reconciliation of fixed assets vs import records (Open Pedimentos).
- Work with SCM to request USMCA Certificates for raw materials, identify new products and BOM’s, and support other department needs from Import/Export department.
- Direct in-house broker operations and maintain broker qualifications.
- Oversee electronic documentation to comply with internal systems.
- Ensure monthly compliance and documentation of positive opinions for VAT & INEGI.
- Review 3rd party broker outsourced operations for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Provide suggestions for improvement and cost savings.
- Support the MESH Initiatives and Zero accident culture.
- Support QMS for VAT certification, OEA, CTPAT, etc.
- Support the sites on all activities derived by any Customs visits or requirements.
- Conduct risk analysis methodology.
- Maintain trade compliance KPI’s.
- Verify the level of tax compliance of suppliers.
**Background & Skills**-
- Bachelor degree in foreign trade.
- 3-5 years of experience in the same position and supervising others.
- Fluent in English-Spanish.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel audit formulas).
- Deep knowledge in Vastera.
- HTS Classification Skills.
- Knowledge in duty drawback on import and export transactions.
- Knowledge in Mexican Customs Brokerage Obligation and Responsibilities.
- Knowledge in Duty Claim (US/Mexico).
- Knowledge in US Cost submission (Entry reconciliation).
- Strong communication skills with internal and external customers.
- Knowledge in Free trade agreement.
