Resumen: The Buyer - MRP is responsible for managing the procurement of raw materials, components, and indirect supplies to support production schedules in a maquiladora environment. This role ensures material availability through efficient use of the MRP system, vendor management, and alignment with company quality, cost, and delivery standards. **Responsabilidades**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Review and analyze MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system to generate purchase orders in line with production demand.
- Ensure the on-time procurement of materials and components to prevent line stoppages and production delays.
- Manage vendor relationships, including communication, follow-up, and negotiation of lead times, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor supplier performance and escalate issues related to quality, delays, or non-conformances.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Logistics teams to resolve material shortages or discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and update ERP/MRP data as needed.
- Coordinate with Customs/Logistics to ensure compliance with maquiladora import/export regulations.




- Support cost-reduction initiatives, vendor development, and continuous improvement activities.
- Prepare purchasing reports, KPIs, and analysis for management review.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Industrial Engineering, International Trade, or related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in purchasing within a manufacturing or maquiladora environment.
- Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Familiarity with maquiladora processes and import/export regulations.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Bilingual: English and Spanish (intermediate to advanced level).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
