**Associate Buyer**
**A Day in Your Life at MKS**:
As a **Buyer** at **MKS Instruments**, you will partner with **Engineering, Planning, Quality, Suppliers, and internal cross‑functional teams** to **execute procurement activities, place and manage purchase orders, and ensure continuity of supply in support of production and business requirements**. In this role, you will report to the **Procurement Manager**.
**You Will Make an Impact By**:
- Executing purchase orders in accordance with approved demand, lead times, and sourcing strategies.
- Managing supplier communications related to order confirmations, delivery commitments, and changes.
- Monitoring open orders, past due items, and shortages, and driving timely resolution to avoid production impact.
- Supporting supplier performance management, including on‑time delivery, responsiveness, and issue resolution.
- Collaborating with Planning, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to ensure alignment on material requirements and changes.
- Maintaining accurate procurement data and documentation within ERP systems (e.g., SAP / Oracle).
**Travel Requirements**: Up to **10%** of travel is required.
**Skills You Bring**:
- Bachelor’s degree in **business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field**.
- **0 - 2 years** of job‑related work experience in procurement, purchasing,



or supply chain roles.
- Experience placing and managing purchase orders in an ERP environment.
- Ability to analyze demand, lead times, and supplier constraints to support supply continuity.
- Strong communication skills for internal and external stakeholder coordination.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis for tracking and reporting.
**Preferred Skills**:
- Entry level with some experience in manufacturing, electronics, or industrial supply chain.
- Familiarity with SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems.
- Experience supporting purchasing ramp‑ups, shortages, or constrained supply environments.
- Understanding of supplier performance metrics (OTD, lead time, responsiveness).
**Supervisory Scope**:
- **Reporting Relationships**: entry level Individual contributor role; no direct reports.
- **Financial Responsibilities**: Responsible for purchase order execution and spend compliance within assigned commodities or supplier scope.
**Physical Demands and Working Conditions**:
- Primarily office‑based role with extended periods of computer use.
- Occasional interaction with manufacturing or supplier sites as required.
- Ability to work across time zones to support integral suppliers.
