**About the role**:
As a Senior Data Ops Engineer, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operational support of Kerry's data and analytics platforms, taking ownership of more complex issues and helping raise the bar on how BAU is run across Azure, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric and the Power Platform.
Your primary focus will be BAU operations: monitoring ELT data pipelines, managing incidents and defects, supporting Power Platform solutions, and delivering enhancements, all while supporting and enabling the broader Power BI community.
You will bring stronger technical depth and experience to the team handling tougher troubleshooting scenarios, contributing to operational standards and runbooks, and sharing knowledge with peers.
AI/ML monitoring will be part of the role on a growing scale, alongside leveraging AI assistance to automate and streamline maintenance tasks as these capabilities mature.
In this role you will also use your Power Platform technical skills and strong communication abilities to support integral Power BI users, contribute to learning experiences for citizen developers,
and guide teams as they embrace Self-Service BI capabilities.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Monitor and maintain ELT data pipelines across Azure, Databricks and Microsoft Fabric to ensure reliable ingestion and refresh cycles, taking ownership of more complex pipeline issues.
- Perform incident management, including triage, root-cause analysis, resolution, and communication with stakeholders, act as a point of reference for tougher incidents within the team.
- Provide operational support for Power Platform and Databricks solutions, including troubleshooting and delivering fixes.
- Partner with platform, engineering and governance teams to shape environment management, release processes and platform best practices.
- Support the self-service BI community, ensuring adherence to DS&E; governance.
- Champion the self-service BI community, ensuring adherence to DS&E; governance while enabling scale.
- Drive the Power BI community agenda best practices, monthly updates, training sessions and Power BI champions and own the internal hub for reusable assets, templates and guidelines.
- Perform monitoring of AI/ML jobs (refresh health, drift flags, runtime failures) and contribute to improving how these are tracked over time.
**Qualifications and skills**:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or another quantitative field.
- Significant hands-on experience (typically 3+ years) operating and supporting enterprise data and analytics platforms in a production environment.
- Technical expertise across Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate and Databricks is mandatory.
- Strong working knowledge of at least 3 of the following: PySpark, SQL, Power Query, Python and DAX.
- Proven experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and release management in a data engineering context.
- Demonstrated experience leading incident response, problem management and operational workflows through ServiceNow or equivalent tooling.
- Experience with the AI/ML lifecycle, monitoring metrics and evaluation workflows is highly desirable; exposure to MLOps practices a strong plus.
- Exposure to AI-assisted development or operations tooling (Copilot, Copilot Studio, agents) would be a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail and an ownership mindset.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills; comfortable engaging senior stakeholders, presenting to technical and business audiences, and guiding users at all skill levels.
- Experience building training content, documentation, or communities of practice would be a plus.
- Self-starter with a passion for emerging technologies, knowledge sharing and uplifting data culture across a global organization.
