**Job Purpose**:
Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) strategies, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations, corporate policies, and sustainability goals.
The Director of EHS drives a proactive safety culture across all operations, aiming for zero incidents and full environmental compliance.
**Main Responsibilities**:
- Define and execute the company's EHS strategic plan aligned with corporate objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations, standards, and certifications (e.g., ISO *****, ISO *****).
- Lead risk assessments, audits, and preventive programs to identify and mitigate operational risks.
- Promote a strong safety culture through leadership, training, and engagement programs at all organizational levels.
- Oversee environmental programs including waste management, emissions, sustainability, and resource conservation.
- Serve as the primary liaison with local and federal regulatory agencies on EHS matters.
- Analyze EHS performance indicators and report results to executive management, recommending corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead emergency preparedness and crisis management programs.
- Manage EHS budgets and resources effectively, ensuring proper allocation for training, equipment,
and initiatives.
- Guide and develop the EHS team to strengthen technical expertise and leadership capability.
**Qualifications and Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Safety Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in EHS management, including at least 5 years in a leadership or corporate role.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental, occupational health, and safety regulations (local and international).
- Experience in manufacturing, automotive, or industrial operations preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and influence skills at all organizational levels.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- Certifications such as ISO *********** Lead Auditor, CSP, or similar are an advantage.
