We are seeking a
Senior Mainframe Developer
to support a large Wealth Management firm operating in a broker-dealer model. This role focuses on Mainframe development for Retirement planning functionality, blending new development as the primary focus with production support responsibilities.
Design and deliver new Mainframe development initiatives supporting Retirement planning functionality Provide production support to ensure the stability and reliability of Mainframe applications Quickly diagnose and resolve common Job Abends in the Mainframe environment Troubleshoot complex production issues by applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a Scrum-based delivery model Utilize Problem Management tools such as ServiceNow to track and resolve incidents Work with Mainframe Job Schedulers to manage and monitor batch processes Partner with business stakeholders in the Financial Services domain to deliver technical solutions aligned to business needs 3+ years of experience in Mainframe development Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, and DB2 Expertise in VSAM and IBM MQ Capability to quickly fix common Job Abends in Mainframe Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills Familiarity with IT Service Management practices Hands-on experience with Problem Management tools, preferably ServiceNow Background in working with Mainframe Job Schedulers Understanding of the Financial Services domain Skills in working within a Scrum environment Proficiency in English at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher Knowledge of CICS, Assembler, and IDMS/IMS development or support Familiarity with debugging tools such as EXPEDITOR, ABENDAID, TELON, and FileAid Experience with ISPW, Topaz, or Compuware ITIL certification, along with exposure to Atlassian Jira and Scaled Agile Framework Background in the Wealth Management domain
