**Responsibilities**
The Director will develop and maintains relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement and protective agencies to ensure real-time communication of security related information from these entities to corporate management and staff.
The Director will manage budget and resources assigned to their geographies and programs.
They will also create and deliver business justifications for additional resource needs to better protect Oportun.
- Implements a metrics program to provide necessary information to executive leadership around risk management activities related to the corporate security and safety programs.
- Communicates with local, state and federal law enforcement officials as needed.
- Provides leadership, directly or through influence, to meet all objectives of the corporate security program and to address unplanned events.
- Participates in investigations of workplace security incidents, employee fraud, customer fraud, possible AML and other incidents as directed, providing timely documentation.
- Collaborates with Human Resources, Legal and Risk Management teams to develop and oversee a sound workplace violence recognition and response program.
- Participates in and leads the regional threat management team.




- Develops an Executive Protection Program to include the capacity to perform protective intelligence, evaluate and report on evolving risks, design and recommend mitigation strategies and implement countermeasures.
- Interfaces with examiners from regulatory agencies, internal and external auditors to support their evaluations.
- Ability to be on-call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and to travel to US and Mexican operations approximately 30% of the time.
- Performs other essential functions as assigned by management.
**Qualifications**
- Minimum of 10 years of related experience and 4+ years management experience.
- English fluency required.
- College degree or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience as a physical security and corporate safety director or manager and/or law enforcement; this position requires independent judgment, integrity, and discretion, as well the ability to identify, analyze and resolve security-related matters.
- Effective oral and written communication, including the ability to make presentations to senior level executives and prepare written policies and reports
- Proven ability to manage security vendors.
- Comprehensive knowledge of current security and emergency response techniques, issues, equipment, procedures and security threats.
- Experience with management of risks and controls for security and facility related processes.
- Experience analyzing potential threat related information and communicating potential vulnerabilities to management.
- Focused personality, with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines.
