**Product Engineer**
**Descripción y Requisitos**
- Job Summary:
- This position will provide in-production products PE activities leadership, new product development support and project launch leadership, serve as a leader of a multi-disciplinary team and provide core technical support, ensure the cost timing and performance objectives are met for assigned projects and provide training to other engineers and technicians.Major Job Responsibilities:
- Lead Engineering activities to support in-production products sustaining activities (Engineering changes, verification methods, necessary analyses, VA/VEs, validation, BOMs etc.) while interfacing with global customers.
- Lead Engineering activities on identification, review, assessment, and resolution of deficiencies throughout in-production products life cycle.
- Provide support to Engineering activities for new product developments (Product Design, Development, verification methods, necessary analyses, etc.) while interfacing with general customers.
- Manage technology development and integration into existing and new product/process opportunities.
- Mechanical design using UGNX software including analysis of stack ups, material properties, FEA etc.
- Leads benchmarking and analysis of competitive products/technologies.
- Development and testing for brushless DC (BLDC) and brushed motor actuators.
- Leads team to ensure product design and performance compliance with STONERIDGE, regulatory and customer specification.
Develop internal performance specifications to support new product development.
- Ensures adequate project and technical communications (e.g., meetings, oral reports, technical reports) with STONERIDGE personnel, management, suppliers and customers.
- Work with Operations and Quality functions to evaluate improvements to existing processes for improvement.
Participate in cross-functional teams to define and execute improvement projects when sanctioned




- Work with Process and Manufacturing Engineering to improve the robustness and manufacturability of new products utilizing Design for Manufacture and Assembly techniques.
- Coordinate activities with Sales, Purchasing, Supplier Development, Supplier Quality, and Operations to execute new programs as well as support activities related to in-production products
- Create and support in writing/ compiling engineering documentation.
- Utilizes knowledge of current procedures, regulations, customer and industry requirements and practices to successfully create, assist in defining product specifications to obtain new business.
- Assist and coordinates in identifying, reporting, researching, and resolving customer problems/ concerns.
- Perform special assignments, as necessary.
Major Job Qualifications:
- Technical Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Automotive industry experience and experience with mechatronic modules is strongly preferred.
- Experience in one or more of the following required: mechanical design, gear/geartrain design, embedded electronics, embedded software, electrical machines such as brushed and brushless DC motors
- Experience working in and/or managing globally resourced teams
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of automotive industry, procedures/system e.g. Statistical analysis, ISO, TS-*****, FMEA, ECO system, PDP, DVP&R;, GD&T;, DOE, etc.
- Thorough understanding of cause-and-effect relationships that will provide the skill to identify and solve problems using tools such as FTA, 8-D, 5-why analysis, etc.
- Experience with UGNX or similar CAD program is preferred, FEA is a plus.
- Capable of managing and prioritizing multiple projects/tasks.
- Able to communicate and write effectively resulting in a clear understanding of the issues.
- Ability to lead effective communication internally as well as with STONERIDGE customers and suppliers.
- Ability and willingness to travel when needed.
