This role serves as the primary Credit Risk resource for Mexico, Canada, International, and Celtic, with support across other portfolios to ensure continuity of Credit operations and consistent application of credit policy and risk controls.Partners with Sales, Operations, Finance, Claims, Legal, and Collections to protect company assets, reduce bad debt, and enable sustainable revenue growth through disciplined credit risk management.The adecuado candidate combines strong financial analysis skills and sound judgment with the ability to leverage data analytics and visualization tools.
They will transform raw financial data into actionable insights, automate portfolio reporting, and proactively mitigate emerging credit risks and anomalies while balancing business growth and the customer experience.Key ResponsibilitiesCredit Underwriting & Customer Onboarding:Perform credit risk assessments for new and existing customers using financial statements, credit bureau reports, trade references, and publicly available financial informationRecommend credit limits, payment terms, and risk mitigation strategiesPartner with Sales and Operations to enable customer onboarding with appropriate risk controlsSupport execution of credit policies, approval frameworks, and onboarding standardsPortfolio Monitoring & Risk ManagementManage credit monitoring for Canada, Celtic Intermodal, International, and Canada portfolios, while supporting broader portfolio coverage as needed.Monitor credit exposure, utilization, aging, payment performance,
and credit alertsConduct periodic credit reviews and reassess customer risk profiles to identify emerging credit riskIdentify high risk accounts and recommend mitigation actions, including limit adjustments, term modifications, credit holds, and suspensionsManage over limit accounts, reactivation requests, and portfolio risk reportingCredit Operations, Claims, & Risk MitigationPartner with Claims to assess high risk cargo claims exposure and payment riskManage high risk accounts, bankruptcies, disputes, and distressed customersDevelop customer specific risk mitigation strategies in partnership with CommercialSupport company wide credit monitoring and risk initiativesPrepare high risk account reviews and escalation recommendationsStrategic Collections & Recovery SupportSupport escalation of delinquent and high risk accountsPartner with 3rd party collection agencies on recovery effortsTrack and reconcile bad debt recovery activitySupport OCA workflows and reportingProvide risk based recommendations for complex recovery and settlement decisionsData Analytics, Reporting & ControlsBuild and maintain dynamic credit risk dashboards to track portfolio health, utilization, and aging trends.Leverage data analytics to strengthen risk controls, establishing automated alerts for early warning signs of customer distress.Analyze exposure, delinquency, and bad debt data to identify root causes and predict future default risks.Identify process and risk reduction opportunitiesQualificationsRequired3+ years in credit, risk, financial analysis, AR, or Order to Cash experienceProficiency with business intelligence tools (specifically Power BI or Tableau) with a proven ability to build, model,
and maintain interactive dashboards.Strong financial statement and credit analysis skillsAdvanced excel proficiency, including XLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, SQL, and data analysisStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to make sound, risk based decisions in a fast paced environment.Strong attention to detail and prioritization skillsPreferredBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related fieldExperience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or freight brokerageExperience with D&B;, Moody's, BillTrust, Salesforce, Oracle FusionKnowledge of credit policy, portfolio monitoring, AR, and bad debt recoveryExperience utilizing business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau) and writing basic SQL queries to extract data, build models, and visualize credit risk portfolio metricsAbout Uber FreightUber Freight helps companies move goods more reliably and efficiently.
