Solution Architect Data Modeler
Role Purpose
The Solution Architect owns endtoend technical solutioning and delivery oversight across all four deliverables, acts as the primary technical counterpart to the clients Data Engineering team, and ensures architectural consistency between the Goldlayer pipeline work Data Practice and the newsroom UI work UI Practice. This role is the single point of technical accountability onshore and is expected to be embedded in daily clientfacing collaboration, not just internal delivery oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Own the technical architecture for Goldlayer pipeline design dbt Airflow on a cloud data warehouse platform and its integration points with the RealTime Newsroom Web UI and Audience Goals Dashboard.
Serve as primary technical liaison to client Data Engineering, Data Collection, and Program Management stakeholders represent Virtusa in technical design discussions and Q1 jointdiscovery sessions.
Translate ambiguous or notyetfinal requirements into concrete technical specifications, in coordination with the Solution Lead.




Drive resolution of open architectural dependencies Bronze Silver readiness handoff, eventtracker instrumentation gaps, reconciliation tolerance thresholds, hosting platform confirmation, and rolebased access model.
Provide handson technical direction to the offshore engineering team Data, UI Build, UX Design streams review designs and key implementation decisions.
Own delivery risk management for the acceleratedtrack deliverable given its hard deadline and outofband design process.
Ensure data quality, parity validation vs. legacy platform baselines, and observability runbook standards meet client Data Engineering conventions dbt, managed workflow orchestration, standard linting precommit tooling.
Support sprintlevel planning and resourcing decisions, including uneven quarteroverquarter workload across the program.
Proactively escalate scope, timeline, or dependency risks to the Solution Lead.
Contribute to postlaunch support, knowledgetransfer planning, and documentation handover to the clients Data Engineering team.
Required Skills Experience
8 years in data solution architecture roles, including at least 3 years in cloud data warehousebased medallion Bronze Silver Gold architectures e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery.
Handson experience with eventdriven data collection platforms such as Snowplow, Segment, or mParticle as a source system.




Strong dbt and workflow orchestration experience e.g., Airflow familiarity with managed orchestration bridges e.g., Astronomer Cosmos is a plus.
Experience architecting realtime or nearrealtime analytics pipelines for highconcurrency, lowlatency use cases media publishing editorial analytics experience strongly preferred.
Experience with data migration parity validation projectslegacy vendor analytics tool to modern inhouse replacement.
Working knowledge of frontend fullstack architecture sufficient to coordinate with a UIbuild team role does not require handson frontend development.
Experience operating in TM, staffaugmentation delivery models with a clientowned PMO.
Strong clientfacing communication skills comfortable representing technical positions directly to enterprise client stakeholders.
Experience managing or technically directing offshore delivery teams.
Familiarity with SSO Oktabased role access models and enterprise data governance frameworks.
Nice to Have
Prior experience with BI tool e.g., Tableau integration repointing projects.
Experience in newsroom editorial analytics tooling Parse.ly, Chartbeat, or similar.
AWS certification or handson AWS EKS Istio experience.
Snowplow, Segment, mParticle, Adobe Analytics event collection, Google Analytics event instrumentation, or a similar clickstream eventtracking platform
