Dimensional Control Engineer | Body-in-White (BIW) & Vehicle Assembly

Location: Mexico (Project-Based)

Job Type: Temporary (3 to 6 months)

Salary: $35,000 – $45,000 MXN per month

PARTNER CARE is seeking a Dimensional Control Engineer to support body-in-white (BIW) and vehicle assembly dimensional quality within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures geometric integrity of vehicle assemblies and maintains dimensional control throughout the production process. The adecuado candidate will have a strong background in automotive manufacturing, GD&T;, and dimensional analysis, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues in real-time.

Main Responsibilities:

- Monitor Dimensional Quality: Oversee and maintain dimensional quality across body shop and general assembly operations.
- Data Analysis: Analyze dimensional data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues.
- Tooling Support: Support tooling modifications and process improvements related to dimensional performance.
- Control Plans: Maintain and execute dimensional control plans and reaction plans to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
- Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve dimensional quality issues affecting production, using root cause analysis methodologies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve dimensional stability and process capability.
- Supplier Quality: Support vehicle quality reviews and supplier dimensional quality meetings. Track supplier-related dimensional issues and drive corrective actions.

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing dimensional control (BIW experience preferred).
- Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and dimensional analysis techniques.
- Software Proficiency:



Experience with dimensional analysis software (CM4D preferred).
- Measurement Equipment: Familiarity with measurement equipment including laser gauges, CMMs, and checking fixtures.
- Language: Advanced English (B2-C1) – Must be able to communicate fluently with international clients and suppliers.
- Visa Requirements: Valid Passport and ability to obtain necessary Visa for the project (if applicable).

Technical Skills:

- GD&T; & Blueprint Interpretation.
- Dimensional Analysis (CM4D, PolyWorks, or similar).
- Measurement Systems (Laser Trackers, CMM, Portable Arms).
- Checking Fixtures and Gauge R&R.;
- APQP & PPAP (Dimensional section).
- SPC & Statistical Analysis.
- Root Cause Analysis & 8D.

Soft Skills:

- Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proactivity: Self-starter who can identify and resolve issues without constant supervision.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
