This role is within Chamberlain Group's Finance function. A successful incumbent is expected to (i) Perform closing processes and tasks with a moderate degree of complexity and autonomy; ensure all balances are accurate, balances are properly reconciled to underlying data, take corrective actions with moderate autonomy and (ii) Calculate and create journal entries; enter journal entries into the general ledger accurately and timely.
Responsibilities Perform corporate closing processes and tasks with a moderate degree of complexity and autonomy; assist with company-wide consolidation, ensure all balances are accurate, balances are properly reconciled to underlying data, take corrective actions with moderate autonomy.
Calculate and create journal entries and accruals; enter journal entries into the general ledger accurately and timely
Participate in the monthly trial balance review process to ensure completeness of the general ledger
Prepare accounts reconciliations accurately and timely; maintain assigned accounts to ensure clearing of settled transactions and follow up on missing entries
Prepare local, federal, and state taxes for Mexico
Maintain monthly task checklist to ensure that all tasks are completed on time and follow up with co-workers on incomplete tasks or overdue reconciliations
Serve as primary point of contact to manage local debit/credit and cash processes
Support with our Latin American entities accounting and tax filing needs
Prepare annual reporting packages, schedules,
and supporting documentation to support the annual financial statement audit for Mexico
Assist with front-line support for general SAP related questions and testing new SAP functionality
Work closely with the Tax team at the parent company to ensure books and records are accurate for tax related matters
Protect Chamberlain Group’s reputation by keeping information confidential
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed
Minimum Qualifications Education/Certifications: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: 5+ year of relevant work experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Significant knowledge of a large scale ERP platform; understanding of Mexican and US GAAP
Other: Able to travel occasionally
Preferred Qualifications Education/Certifications: Master's in accounting or MBA, CPA (Licensed or Registered)
