Responsible for developing, leading, and governing the company’s global trade compliance program in LATAM. This role ensures compliance with all applicable customs, trade, and export regulations while enabling efficient cross-border operations, supporting sourcing and manufacturing strategies, and minimizing tariff and duty exposure.
The Sr Trade Compliance Mgr leads the México´s Trade Compliance team and partners cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and Manufacturing to ensure regulatory compliance is embedded into business processes and decision-making, while supporting operational efficiency and cost optimization.
Responsabilidades
Trade Compliance Governance & Risk Management
- Own and manage the LATAM trade compliance governance framework across import, export, customs, and trade programs
- Provide executive oversight to ensure compliance with IMMEX, export controls, sanctions, and other applicable regulations.
Tariff, Duty & Free Trade Strategy
- Set strategy and oversee execution of tariff mitigation and duty optimization initiatives (e.g., USMCA qualification, tariff engineering, IMMEX, etc).
- Monitor and assess general tariff and regulatory developments and advise senior leadership on business impact and risk.
- Own and manage enterprise-wide HTS classification, country of origin determination, valuation, and trade documentation governance.
Cross-Functional Integration
- Drive integration of trade compliance requirements into strategic sourcing, procurement, product design, and manufacturing processes.
- Establish and provide ongoing leadership of a cross-functional Trade Compliance Committee, ensuring alignment across Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Legal, Finance, Manufacturing, and regional teams.
LATAM & Operations
- Provide strategic governance of trade compliance activities supporting Mexico´s manufacturing and Branch operations, including IMMEX compliance and coordination with local leadership.
- Lead the customs and trade compliance strategy for international trade flows from Mexico to the United States, Canada, Central America and South America.
- Drive harmonization of trade compliance processes and standards across México´s operations to improve consistency and efficiency.
Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead and manage the México´s trade compliance organization, including operations leaders and teams.
- Set clear accountability, performance expectations, and development paths across the México´s team.
Systems, Data & Process Improvement
- Drive process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives across México´s operations.
- Define and own KPIs to measure compliance health, risk exposure, operational efficiency, and cost savings.
Calificaciones
Required level: Bachelors degree
