District Manager, Timberland

Position Summary:

The District Operations Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence across a designated group of Timberland retail stores. This role partners closely with District Managers, Store Managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure consistent execution of operational standards, inventory management, merchandising, compliance, customer experience, and financial performance.

The District Operations

Manager serves as a key business partner, identifying opportunities to improve productivity, reduce operational risk, and support sustainable growth while maintaining Timberland’s brand values and consumer-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Excellence

- Ensure consistent execution of Timberland operational policies, procedures, and best practices across all stores within the district.
- Conduct regular store visits and operational audits to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Partner with Store Managers to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and store profitability.
- Monitor key operational KPIs and develop action plans to address performance gaps.

Inventory & Asset Management

- Oversee inventory accuracy and stock management processes, including receiving, transfers, cycle counts, and physical inventories.
- Analyze inventory trends and collaborate with planning and merchandising teams to optimize product availability.




- Minimize inventory shrinkage through effective loss prevention practices and compliance initiatives.

Financial Performance & Cost Control

- Support district leadership in achieving sales, profitability, and expense management targets.
- Monitor operational expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Ensure proper controls are in place to protect company assets and resources.

Team Leadership & Development

- Coach and support Store Managers and operational leaders to strengthen execution and accountability.
- Facilitate training programs related to operational processes, systems, compliance, and inventory management.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence.

Customer Experience

- Ensure stores deliver a seamless customer experience by maintaining high standards in store operations, product availability, and visual presentation.
- Partner with field leadership to identify and resolve operational barriers impacting customer satisfaction.

Compliance & Risk Management

- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, labor regulations, and operational procedures.
- Lead initiatives related to health and safety, loss prevention, and risk mitigation.
- Investigate operational concerns and implement corrective action plans when necessary.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Partner with Retail Operations, Human Resources, Finance, Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Loss Prevention teams to support business objectives.
- Participate in district and regional projects aimed at improving operational performance and scalability.

Educational Requirements:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field required.
- Master’s Degree or relevant professional certifications are considered a plus.

Experience Requirements

- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive retail leadership experience, preferably within a multi-unit retail environment.




- At least 3 years of experience managing store operations across multiple locations.
- Strong understanding of retail operations, inventory management, loss prevention, and financial analysis.
- Proven track record of driving operational improvements and achieving business objectives.
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing retail management teams.
- Proficiency with retail systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to travel frequently within the assigned district.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced English level is strictly required.

Location: District-based with frequent travel to assigned Timberland stores.
