Job Title: Facilities Engineer
Job Overview We are seeking a Facilities Engineer to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the critical infrastructure and systems supporting our electronics manufacturing operations.
In this key role, you will oversee the operation, maintenance, improvement, and expansion of our facilities—guaranteeing the availability of essential utility services for production while collaborating closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, EHS, Quality, Maintenance, and external vendors.
The adecuado candidate combines hands-on technical expertise, strong analytical problem-solving skills, project management capabilities, and a deep commitment to operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilities & Critical Systems Operations: Ensure the reliable performance of infrastructure supporting manufacturing areas. Monitor capacity and condition, identify continuity risks, build mitigation plans, and lead response efforts for facility-related emergencies.
- Electrical & Mechanical Systems: Provide technical support and maintain systems including:
- Electrical distribution and switchboards.
- UPS, emergency backup generators, and power systems.
- HVAC, ventilation, and extraction systems.
- Compressed air, chillers, and cooling systems.
- Vacuum systems (where applicable), water, and drainage.
- Fire protection systems and other critical manufacturing utilities.
- Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Coordinate corrective repairs to minimize downtime, analyze root causes of recurring failures, track reliability KPIs,
and ensure compliance with safety and technical specs.
- Production Support & Expansion: Partner with Manufacturing and Engineering on equipment installation, moves, and commissioning. Evaluate utility requirements (power, cooling, air, extraction) for new lines and lead facilities execution during NPI and production ramp-up.
- Project & Vendor Management: Oversee infrastructure improvement and expansion projects. Solicit and evaluate technical proposals, supervise external contractors, and enforce safety, budget, and timeline compliance.
- Safety & Compliance (EHS): Partner with EHS to comply with environmental and safety regulations, support internal/external audits, enforce plant safety policies with contractors, and lead infrastructure risk assessments.
- Continuous Improvement & Efficiency: Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, drive energy and water conservation projects, analyze failure trends, and reduce operational costs without sacrificing quality or safety.
- Documentation: Maintain up-to-date facility blueprints, single-line diagrams, technical documentation, SOPs, work instructions, and maintenance logs.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Facilities / Utilities Uptime
- Emergency Response Time & MTTR / MTBF
- Preventive Maintenance Compliance Rate
- Energy Consumption & Efficiency Metrics
- Project Delivery (On-time, On-budget)
- Reduction in Recurring Incidents & Infrastructure Failures
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Hands-on experience in facilities engineering, plant maintenance, or industrial infrastructure. Prior experience in electronics manufacturing, semiconductors, data centers, or high-tech manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of industrial electrical and mechanical systems, HVAC, compressed air, cooling, power distribution, and technical drawing/blueprint interpretation.
- Tools & Skills: Experience managing external contractors and vendor proposals. Proficiency with MS Office and CMMS/maintenance software is desirable.
- Language: Professional English proficiency required for technical and business communication.
Key Competencies
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and data-driven decision-making skills.
- High sense of urgency with a hands-on approach on the manufacturing floor.
- Excellent multitasking, organization, and project leadership capabilities.
- Strong communication skills across multidisciplinary teams, leadership, and external suppliers.
- Risk-management and continuous improvement mindset.
