Job Title: Lighting Design Release Engineer (DRE)

Location: Mexico City, Mexico

Job Type: Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced Lighting Design Release Engineer (DRE) with strong expertise in automotive exterior lighting systems and component design. The adecuado candidate will be responsible for the design, development, feasibility, validation, and release of lighting components and sub-systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead design release activities for automotive exterior lighting systems, including Headlamps, Tail Lamps, Center Light Panels, and Corner Lamps.
- Collaborate with the Styling team to conduct feasibility studies, evaluate A-class surfaces, and establish craftsmanship targets.
- Design and develop lighting components using CATIA V6.
- Complete manufacturing feasibility and ensure designs meet production requirements.
- Release lighting components, sub-systems, and detailed designs according to program requirements.
- Work closely with Tier-1 suppliers on design development, cost, mass, joining methods, molding, and performance trade-offs.




- Apply knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes to develop production-ready designs.
- Review and interpret simulation/CAE results and incorporate recommendations into product designs.
- Support design reviews, issue resolution, prototype builds, testing, and production readiness.
- Ensure designs meet quality, performance, cost, timing, and manufacturability targets.

Required Skills

- 3+ years of Lighting DRE experience.
- 10+ years of automotive interior/exterior lighting design experience.
- Strong knowledge of automotive exterior lighting systems and components.
- Hands-on experience with CATIA V6.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, molding, and joining methods.
- Experience working with Styling teams and Tier-1 suppliers.
- Strong understanding of design feasibility, A-surface evaluation, craftsmanship, and design release processes.
- Ability to independently manage component design through development and final release.
