We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Trade Compliance Administrative Assistant to support our U.S.based legal team in managing integral export control and trade compliance activities.
Key responsibilities- Export Control Administration (Global) - Supporting operational requirements.
- Support on first
- and second-level export compliance assessments.
- Assistance with international laws and regulations with a primary focus on the Americas.
This may include governance of shipments (hardware/software), transmission, or transfer of sensitive equipment, information, and software to foreign countries, persons, or entities.
- Assist the Legal Department with classification issues involving third-party hardware or software, such as Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), Schedule B Numbers, ECCNs, and any other international designations.
- Ensure offices or departments are following the classification criteria requirements laid out by Legal.
- Ability to effectively coordinate and communicate with multiple departments.
- Demonstrates the ability to analyze and solve moderately complex problems.
- Assist in internal and external audits.
- Partner due diligence and compliance assessments.
- Initiate government license requirements.
- Conduct assessments on country restrictions (bribery, corruption, bank debarments, bank limitations).
- Administrative support (e.g., scheduling meetings, training, etc.)- Manages and maintains export/import files and records in accordance with U.S. Government regulations and company policy and directives.
Essential requirements- English Proficiency - Advanced- Prior experience in Export/Trade Compliance or similar roles- Strong communication, analytical, team, and problem-solving skills.
- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.)- Strong computer skills, including ability to research transactions and prepare reports, perform spreadsheet calculations, and adapt to new software platforms.
- Experience with Amber Road/E2OPEN RPS screening tool (or public databases for international trade information, such as TARIC for EU commodities classifications).
- SharePoint Experience
Desired skills- Relevant experience in international trade operations is strongly preferred (e.g., export/import compliance, logistics, or trade documentation).
- Prior exposure to export and/or import compliance processes.
- Experience supporting business operations or working with third-party logistics (3PL)- Operations background- CRM experience preferred (Microsoft Dynamics CRM/Salesforce)- JIRA experience preferred
