- Design and develop plastic components and assemblies using CAD software.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to optimize product performance and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Tooling, Quality, and Product Engineering teams throughout the product development process.
- Support mold design reviews and provide recommendations to improve part quality and manufacturability.
- Select appropriate plastic materials based on product requirements and application.
- Create and maintain 2D drawings, 3D models, and engineering documentation.
- Participate in design reviews, prototype evaluations, and product validation activities.
- Analyze design issues and implement engineering changes when required.
- Support new product introductions (NPI) from concept through production launch.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Plastics Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in plastic product or component design.
- Experience designing parts for injection molding.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or NX.
- Strong understanding of plastic materials, injection molding processes, and mold design considerations.
- Knowledge of GD&T; and engineering drawing standards.
- Experience with DFM, DFA, tolerance analysis, and product validation.
- Automotive or electronics manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Advanced English communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
