1 Summary
The Engineering Designer II will be responsible for producing general assembly drawings/models, manufacturing drawings, and associated engineering documentation.
Due to advanced technical knowledge the incumbent will be expected to provide technical assistance to other Designers.
2 Key
**Responsibilities**:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Create CAD models, layouts and drawings from conceptual inputs efficiently and on time;
- Create General assembly drawings and/or manufacturing drawings accurately;
- Enter BOM in business system by following Business Process Procedures; process orders as required;
- Follow work list to priority as assigned by the Engineering Planner;
- Complete manufacturing change request(s) to design standards;
- Complete and distribute Engineering Change Requests and other modifications to documentation;
- Ensure ISO guidelines are followed;
- Perform tolerance analysis on designs; identify appropriate basic tolerances and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T;) to satisfy the design requirement and manufacturing;
- Document design data, operational characteristics, and user instructions;
- Execute the design of new products to support the product plan;
- Participate in process improvement within areas of responsibility; continually develop better ways of designing;
- Notify Supervisor when assigned work will not meet time lines;
- Investigate, analyze, and resolve system problems;
- Make recommendations for productivity and/or method improvements;
2.1 Providing services and support to internal and external customers, suppliers
Under the general guidance from the Design Supervisor, the Engineering Designer is responsible for constantly analyzing and producing assembly and complex manufacturing prints, for the production of manifolds, hot halfs and hot runners in a CNC machining environment.
Strong attention to detail and an ability to provide timely technical assistance to other team members is required.
The incumbent will interface with key stakeholders on new product programs and current product modifications to ensuring that their CAD data needs are met.
2.2 Key resources: other people and/or capital and equipment
The incumbent of this role must be able to self-manage daily work schedules.
Under general guidance from the Design Supervisor, the Engineering Designer may occasionally assist other Team Members.

3.2 Other required level of technical and/or practical judgment to perform the work:
The incumbent is a contributor to development of new designs and/or processes at all stages, from concept creation to production tooling.
They will be able to take sketches from industrial design and model in Pro/Engineer.
They will use highest level of CAD skill and problem solving to create a complete model and finished CAD drawing.
4 Effort and Work Environment
Physical and Sensory demands are representative of an employee working in a fast-paced office environment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Specific vision requirements are good general vision, ability to distinguish between colours, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The work environment is a fast-paced office environment.
The noise level is mínimal and the environment is climate controlled.
