Job Captain / BIM Coordinator Full-Time

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced production professional to join our Guadalajara studio in one of two capacities: as a Job Captain , preparing and coordinating complete architectural document sets, or as a BIM Coordinator , leading model standards, coordination, and BIM workflows across project teams. We are hiring for a single position and will place the successful candidate in the track that matches their strengths — depth in one area is what we are looking for, not both.
In either capacity, you will work under the direction of Principals, Project Managers, and the BIM Manager, supporting multifamily residential and mixed-use projects in close collaboration with our U.S. studios.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate documents and models with internal team members and external consultants
Maintain company project and BIM standards across all deliverables
Facilitate communication with U.S. and Mexico teams regarding project status, objectives, and progress
Maintain, organize, and archive project files and model content
Foster an atmosphere for learning and professional growth
Track A — Job Captain (Documentation & Production)
Prepare, review, and check construction documents for accuracy and completeness
Coordinate engineering contract documents and project manuals
Apply working knowledge of structural, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and fire protection design
Apply extensive knowledge of architectural detailing and construction standards
Direct Production Team members,
assign tasks, and allocate resources
Support construction administration (RFIs, shop drawings, submittals)
Coordinate submission of documents to building departments
Track B — BIM Coordinator (Modeling & Standards)
Set up Revit projects within company standards and assist with advanced modeling as needed
Check models for consistency and ensure compliance with BIM execution plans
Combine and manage the federated model, merging disciplines using established protocols and structures
Use Navisworks, BIM 360, and Autodesk Construction Cloud for multi-discipline collaboration
Propose model adjustments, consult with the relevant team members, and monitor implementation
Contribute to the development and maintenance of detail and model content libraries
Conduct Revit and BIM training sessions; coach and guide staff on BIM implementation
Guide project teams through the BIM process and support the wider practice as required
Qualifications
Required
Degree in Architecture
4+ years of production experience in a professional architecture office
Advanced skills in Revit and CAD
Professional written and verbal English proficiency for daily coordination with U.S. teams
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; resourceful team player able to work independently
Ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions
Track A (Job Captain)
5+ years of experience in a professional architecture office
Multifamily residential and mixed-use experience
Working knowledge of CBC, ADA, and relevant U.S. building codes
Track B (BIM Coordinator)
Experience setting up and coordinating a BIM protocol and execution plan for a project
Experience with BIM 360 and Autodesk Construction Cloud
Experience with legacy CAD applications and practices
Ability to apply design experience to the models produced
Preferred
Autodesk Revit Architecture certification
Experience with Autodesk Dynamo
Experience defining BIM outcomes
Broad experience across various project types and phases
Ability to make independent decisions and recommendations
