Role: This is a part-time, contract position.
We’re looking for a highly skilled SEO specialist with deep expertise in technical SEO, content strategy, and search-driven revenue growth for direct-to-consumer (DTC) and ecommerce brands.
This is not an entry-level role. This is a role for someone who fully understands how search engines work in 2025 and beyond, including traditional SEO, AI/LLM search surfaces, technical optimization, content frameworks, and forecasting.
If you think in terms of search intent, site architecture, canonical signals, SERP behavior, keyword themes, experience signals (E-E-A-T), and technical health, not just title tags and plugging keywords into content, this role is for you.
What You’ll Own (Start to Finish)
You will be the subject matter expert for SEO performance across multiple ecommerce clients:
Technical & Platform Ownership
- Full SEO ownership for multiple DTC client websites
- Conducting deep technical audits (crawlability, indexation, sitemaps, schema, site speed, Core Web Vitals, internal linking, canonical logic, etc.)
- Managing and troubleshooting GSC, BWT, GA4, and SEO tooling integrations
- Overseeing site migrations, URL updates, redirects, and structural improvements
- Ensuring sites follow modern SEO best practices across desktop, mobile, and AI surfaces
Research, Strategy & Content Guidance
- Owning keyword research, clustering, and intent modeling based on ICP and buyer journeys
- Competitive analysis: SERP feature tracking, gap analysis, content opportunities
- Recommending and prioritizing new content and optimization opportunities
- Reviewing and editing content to ensure on-page excellence and search alignment
- Maintaining a repository of high-value keywords, priority pages, and content gaps per client
Optimization & Execution
- Full on-page optimization: metadata, headers, schema, URL structure, content improvements
- Internal linking strategy and execution
- Identifying and resolving indexation issues, thin content, cannibalization, and crawl waste
- Regular SERP and AI search analysis (AI Overviews, Bing Deep Search, Perplexity, etc.)
Authority Building (Links, Mentions, Visibility)
Developing and executing modern link-building strategies
- Digital PR
- Partnerships
- Resource page outreach
- Mentions in industry publications
- Monitoring backlink profiles and managing disavows (as needed)
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Weekly/biweekly analysis of KPIs
- Organic traffic
- Keyword movement
- Page-level performance
- Search visibility
- CTR
- Indexed pages
- Conversions
- Creating clear written insights + Loom walkthroughs
- Forecasting traffic and building growth roadmaps per client
- Identifying early warning signals (drops, ranking volatility, page-level issues)
Client & Team Collaboration
- Collaborating closely with Digital Marketing Strategists (account managers)
- Supporting content producers, creative teams, and developers with SEO best practices
- Occasionally joining client calls to present strategy, insights, or recommendations
Who You Are
We’re looking for a strategic, analytical, and curious SEO professional who understands how search actually works today, not how it worked in 2018.
You are
- Highly analytical with deep comfort interpreting complex data
- Technical enough to diagnose and fix structural SEO issues
- Content-savvy, understanding how to write and optimize for both humans and search engines
- Proactive, always bringing new opportunities, experiments, and insights
- Calm under pressure, able to manage multiple accounts with competing deadlines
- Organized, reliable, and obsessed with clarity
- An exceptional communicator, able to teach SEO to non-technical clients
- Low ego, collaborative, and team-oriented
- Results-driven, always focused on traffic, rankings, and revenue outcomes
- Forward-looking, aware of AI search evolution and how to optimize for emerging surfaces
Technical & Platform Skills Required
- Fluent in english
- 3-4 years of hands-on SEO experience for ecommerce or DTC brands
- Proven track record of driving significant year-over-year organic traffic and revenue growth
- Deep understanding of:
- Technical SEO (crawlability, indexation, CWV, IA, structured data)
- Content strategy & search intent modeling
- Keyword clustering & prioritization
- Competitive analysis & SERP feature tracking
- Internal linking strategy & site architecture
- GSC, GA4, BWT, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs/SEMrush
- AI search surfaces & LLM optimization best practices (bonus)
- Experience collaborating with writers, dev teams, and designers
- Strong presentation, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Communication Expectations
- Communication will take place primarily through email video conferences (Google Meet), email, and Google Chat.
- Be available from 9-5pm Mountain Standard Time.
Performance Expectations
While each client is unique, your core KPIs will include:
- Increased organic sessions & search visibility
- Improved rankings for priority keywords/clusters
- Higher CTR and SERP feature presence
- Growth in organic-driven revenue and conversions
- Deeper content authority and stronger backlink profiles
- Reduced technical issues and improved crawl/indexation health
What Success Looks Like
- You independently run technical audits, content optimizations, and strategic improvements
- You provide clear, confident insights via written updates + Loom breakdowns
- You proactively bring new opportunities, keyword gaps, and optimization ideas
- You build SEO roadmaps that realistically forecast growth
- You help clients grow organic revenue, not just rankings
- You treat client websites and traffic as if they were your own business
If you feel you are the perfect fit for this role, please do the following:
- Send an email to
[email protected]
- Share a link to your LinkedIn profile.
- Attach a 2-3 minute Loom video introducing yourself and sharing why you believe you are the best candidate for the role.
