In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the company’s tax compliance and reporting activities in Mexico, ensuring adherence to applicable tax regulations and corporate policies.
Should you be interested in overseeing these tasks and aiming for enhanced performance standards, your role will involve:
- Ensure full compliance with Mexican tax regulations, managing all tax filings, reporting requirements, and statutory obligations while adapting to changing tax laws and SAT requirements.
- Manage tax risk and support audits, including coordinating responses to tax authority reviews, audits, information requests, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
- Oversee accurate and timely tax compliance processes, ensuring all tax calculations, payments, reconciliations, and reporting deadlines are met with a high level of accuracy.
- Provide tax guidance and support for business operations and strategic initiatives, including cross-functional projects, organizational changes, new business activities, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders such as Finance, Accounting, Customs, Legal, Operations, auditors, tax advisors, and government authorities to ensure effective tax planning, compliance, and reporting.
If you have/are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with professional certifications such as CPA, Certified Tax Specialist, or equivalent highly preferred.
- Strong experience in federal and local tax compliance,
including tax determination, tax filings, tax provisions, and tax reporting requirements.
- Comprehensive knowledge of direct and indirect taxes, including Corporate Income Tax, VAT, withholding taxes, local taxes, and customs-related tax matters.
- Advanced understanding of tax accounting, financial statement analysis, tax reconciliations, internal controls, tax risk management, and audit support.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar), coupled with strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and cross-functional leadership skills.
