We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and technical service of advanced inspection and control systems used in food and beverage production environments. This position involves close collaboration with customers, Production teams, and Technical Support departments, ensuring successful system implementation and outstanding after-sales support.
The idóneo candidate will have strong technical expertise in mechatronics, automation, and industrial production equipment, particularly within packaging, canning, and bottling operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field (degree completed; professional certification preferred).
- Proven experience in a similar Field Service Engineer position supporting production line equipment within the food and beverage industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechatronics, automation, industrial control systems, and production machinery.
- Fluent English proficiency (C1 level or equivalent), as the position reports directly to headquarters in Europe.
- Willingness and availability to travel extensively throughout Mexico and Central America.
- Availability to attend a two-week on-site training program in Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Install inspection and quality control systems on customer production lines.
- Ensure proper integration of equipment with existing manufacturing systems and machinery.
- Conduct functional and performance testing before customer handover.
- Execute commissioning and system validation activities to ensure optimal operation.
2. Testing & Technical Validation
- Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) prior to equipment shipment.
- Conduct Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) at customer facilities.
- Verify operational parameters, detection accuracy, and inspection performance.
- Document test results, findings,
and validation records.
3. Advanced Technical Support
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, electronic, and automation-related issues.
- Respond to production incidents affecting equipment performance and reliability.
- Provide both on-site and remote technical support to customers.
- Escalate complex technical issues to Engineering and Product Development teams when required.
4. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities to maximize equipment availability and performance.
- Replace defective components and restore operational functionality.
- Execute equipment adjustments, calibrations, and sensor configuration tasks.
- Minimize production downtime through fast and effective troubleshooting and corrective actions.
5. Customer Training & Technical Guidance
- Train operators, supervisors, and maintenance personnel on equipment operation and maintenance.
- Develop and explain operating procedures and best practices.
- Promote proper use and preventive maintenance of installed systems.
- Provide post-installation technical support and address customer inquiries.
- Document all service activities performed at customer sites.
- Prepare maintenance reports and technical intervention summaries.
- Track recurring issues and implemented corrective actions.
- Provide recommendations for equipment optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
