Job Description

We are seeking a software development resource to support the ongoing development and maintenance of DCam, a Windows desktop application. This role will work with the existing development team to maintain and enhance the application, troubleshoot user-reported issues, resolve defects, and support new version releases.

The contractor will work with both modern and legacy portions of the DCam codebase and assist with improving application reliability, maintainability, and security. Responsibilities will also include troubleshooting nightly build failures, supporting build and deployment processes, and working with the Security team to bring and maintain DCam in compliance with organizational security standards.

Primary Skillset

· C# / .NET Development — .NET 8.0, advanced C# features, nullable reference types; familiarity with C and Java is beneficial

· WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) — XAML, data binding, styles, and custom controls





· MVVM Architecture — CommunityToolkit.Mvvm, ViewModels, commands, and data-binding patterns

· Entity Framework 6 — Database-first development, LINQ, DbContext, and database migrations

· SQL Server — T-SQL, LocalDB, database design, queries, and performance optimization

· Dependency Injection — Autofac and interface-driven application design

· Visual Studio / MSBuild — Project configuration, debugging, profiling, and build troubleshooting

· Experience maintaining and modernizing legacy Windows applications

· Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, including resolving user-reported defects

· Experience supporting software builds, deployments, and version releases

· Ability to investigate and resolve nightly/automated build failures

· Ability to collaborate with development, support, and security teams
