the operating system specialist serves as a change agent and continuous improvement leader, responsible for driving lean transformation, improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
responsibilities
- lead the implementation and execution of continuous improvement initiatives aligned with the organization's goals and vision.
- supervise and support team members involved in continuous improvement and operational excellence activities.
- facilitate lean, kaizen, and process improvement events across manufacturing and administrative functions.
- partner with department leaders to identify opportunities for improvement and enhance operational performance.
- manage policy deployment activities, kpi reporting, and the maintenance of strategic planning tools, including the x-matrix.
- drive the implementation and sustainment of managing for daily improvement (mdi) practices to ensure accountability and continuous performance improvement.
- promote a lean culture through employee training, coaching, and the application of continuous improvement methodologies and tools.
- support problem‑solving and root cause analysis efforts across all business functions.
- maintain visual management systems, performance scorecards, communication boards, audit records, and 5s standards.
- ensure the effective execution of audits, continuous improvement programs, and follow‑up actions resulting from kaizen activities.
- work collaboratively with other company locations to support operational excellence initiatives as required.
- foster a safe, productive, and engaged work environment that encourages teamwork and continuous improvement.
- support environmental management initiatives by identifying risks, ensuring compliance, recommending process improvements, and reporting environmental concerns.
- perform other duties and projects as assigned by management.
qualifications
- education and/or experience: student or recent bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, business management, operations management or equivalent.
- 1 year of leadership experience.
- 1 year of background in the training, support and implementation of lean tools including facilitation of kaizen activities or educational equivalent.
- proficient within ms word, excel, power point, visio, and outlook.
- excellent written, verbal presentation, coaching and interpersonal skills. Able to communicate with a diverse group of individuals at all levels in the organization.
- able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
