For this position, HireHawk is recruiting on behalf of a U.S.-based employment law firm focused on identifying and supporting potential plaintiffs in employment and labor law matters.
As an Accounting Specialist, you will support the day-to-day financial operations of a busy U.S. law firm. You will take ownership of accurate bookkeeping, reconciliations, transaction processing, reporting, and month-end support using QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who enjoys accurate execution and independent ownership rather than management or CFO-level responsibilities. You will handle confidential financial information, identify discrepancies before they become larger issues, and help the firm maintain reliable financial records in a high-volume environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain complete and accurate financial records across the firm’s IOLTA trust accounts and business operating accounts.
- Protect client funds by processing trust transactions carefully and keeping IOLTA records current, accurate, and fully traceable.
- Reconcile bank, trust, operating, and accounting records, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Process deposits, disbursements, transfers, invoices, expenses, and other financial transactions with close attention to supporting documentation.
- Keep QuickBooks organized and up to date so the firm has dependable financial information available when needed.
- Prepare recurring financial, reconciliation, and transaction reports using QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
