Role Purpose

What is your role?
As an Optical Test & Qualification Engineer, you will support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of laboratory test methods, systems, and capabilities for fiber optic cable and connectivity products. This role is focused on optical metrology, test automation, data analysis, and laboratory engineering activities that help ensure accurate, reliable, and robust product testing. You will work closely with technical teams, laboratory leaders, and global engineering partners to strengthen testing capabilities and support product performance initiatives.Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and automate optical test systems for active and passive fiber optic products.
Develop, validate, and improve test methods, calibration procedures, and laboratory processes to ensure measurement accuracy, repeatability, and reliability.
Analyze test data, troubleshoot measurement or equipment issues, and document results, test plans, and technical reports.
Support laboratory operations through technical collaboration, procedure updates, training support, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Experiences/Education - Required
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics, Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related engineering field.
3+ years of experience in engineering roles supporting optics, fiber optics, telecommunications products, or laboratory/test environments.
Strong knowledge of fiber optics, optical engineering, and optical metrology principles.
Experience developing or supporting laboratory test methods, test systems, or test equipment.
Programming skills in LabVIEW, Python, or similar tools used for test automation and measurement systems.
