- Provide direct engineering support for the operating fleet of large utility generators and synchronous condensers during service outages.
- Lead root cause investigations for technical issues and field failures to prevent recurrence.
- Disposition field findings and formulate technically sound repair recommendations for generator components.
- Act as a primary technical contact for field service teams and customers during forced outage recovery efforts.
- 40% Engineering Design & Analysis
- Develop and design engineered repair methods and modifications for existing generator components and systems.
- Conduct engineering studies and component evaluations to support fleet maintenance strategies and reliability improvements.
- Create and release comprehensive product definition documents, including bills of materials, technical drawings, and process specifications.
- 10% Maintenance Strategy & Process Management
- Develop and refine strategic maintenance schedules, work scopes, and recommendations for the generator fleet.
- Manage multiple engineering projects and deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of solutions and documentation.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the power generation industry.
- Demonstrated experience in the design, analysis, or maintenance of turbogenerators and/or synchronous condensers is highly preferred.
