Join our team as a Casualty Risk Control Consultant, where you will partner with clients across a broad range of industries to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks.
This full-time hybrid position is based in our Mexico City office, with flexible work options available after initial training of 3 months on-site. The role supports multiple areas and is a phenomenal opportunity to join a collaborative and high-performing team in our Integral Capability Center.
What the day will look like
As a Risk Control Consultant within the Casualty sector, you will serve as a trusted advisor to clients and internal collaborators by evaluating risk exposures, reviewing safety and compliance programs, and finding opportunities to reduce risk and improve insurability costs for brokers. Your work will directly support clients in managing risk, controlling costs, and strengthening their insurance programs. You will work alongside brokers, risk consultants, and industry specialists to support strategic client initiatives and influence decisions that directly impact risk financing and insurance costs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct risk assessments and review operational practices to identify workplace hazards, compliance gaps, and opportunities for loss prevention.
- Evaluate health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs, policies, procedures, training materials, and documentation to ensure alignment with regulatory and industry standards.
- Review client operations and provide recommendations regarding accident prevention, safety protocols, signage, and risk mitigation measures.
- Analyze operational, safety, claims, and compliance data to uncover patterns, performance gaps, and emerging exposures.
- Cross-reference data from multiple systems and reports to identify inconsistencies, expired certifications, and areas requiring corrective action.
- Develop risk control reports and presentations that translate technical findings into actionable business recommendations.
- Collaborate with brokers, insurers, and clients to support underwriting discussions and improve insurance program outcomes, including policy conditions and premium optimization strategies.
- Assist clients in implementing practical risk management solutions based on the hierarchy of controls and the best and innovative practices of the industry.
- Supervise regulatory developments and assess compliance with applicable federal, state, and industry-specific requirements.
- Support clients across industries such as oil & gas, construction, energy, logistics, transportation, and related sectors.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Bachelor's degree and Sophisticated English level to work with North America clients.
- Experience in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), Risk Control, Loss Prevention, Safety Management, Risk Management, or related subject areas.
- Exposure to industries such as construction, energy, oil & gas, transportation, logistics, or other operationally intensive environments.
- Ability to review safety programs, operational procedures, and compliance documentation to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
- Strong analytical and data-management skills, including Excel proficiency and experience analyzing multiple data sources to identify trends and compliance gaps.
- Experience preparing reports, presentations, and recommendations for business leaders and interested parties.
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks,
workplace safety standards, and methodologies for mitigate risk.
- Strong communication and consulting skills with the ability to translate technical information into practical business recommendations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize competing demands, and work independently in a client-facing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in risk management, insurance, casualty claims, loss analysis, underwriting support, or insurance brokerage environments.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, ISO standards (such as ISO 45001, ISO 31000, ISO 39001, or ISO 45003), and their practical application.
- Familiarity with transportation and fleet safety metrics, including FMCSA, DOT, and non-DOT performance indicators.
- Experience researching citations, fines, regulatory findings, and corrective action requirements.
- Understanding of state-specific regulatory requirements and their relationship to federal standards.
- Knowledge of major industry-specific hazards, exposures, and risk control methods.
- Relevant certifications such as ISO Lead Auditor, CSP, ASP, NEBOSH, CRIS, ARM, or equivalent credentials.
