Major Duties and Responsibilities:- Manage department and systems to effectively service, and maintain all tools and equipment to hit production targets.
- Analyze tool room and maintenance labour variances to ensure that servicing of tooling and equipment meets financial guidelines.
- Develop, Implement and maintain tooling systems to virtually eliminate run interruptions and in-press downtime- Analyze tooling that does not run to rate or to quality expectations and formulate corrective action.
- Ensure that all machining at CSL is performed in the most efficient manner and highest quality- Implement and Manage Standard Work practices for tooling maintenance- Establish tool room schedule to accomplish die maintenance, rebuilding or other machining requirements- Responsible for recruiting, training, discipline and supervision of all tool room personnel- Responsible for managing apprenticeship programs and apprentices- Responsible for scheduling hours of work for all tool room personnel according to contract and availability- Ensure safe performance of tool room and maintenance personnel- Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained- Ensure tool room and maintenance supplies are maintained at an efficient and cost effective level- Responsible for procuring supplies and co-ordinating sub-contractors and records- Responsible for filing maintaining all records in an efficient manner- Responsible for ensuring all works to the requirements for the CSL Quality System- Assists in completing estimates and quotations for new sales, dies or internal die rebuilds- Actively participate in Continuous Improvement Committees, CAR & AQP Teams- Assist in new tool and equipment builds process and tooling vendors to ensure tooling to highest standards- Assist Program Manager through all die design and die building to production acceptance- Sources and manages outside suppliers of tooling components and other outside services for toolroom- Verifies capability of new dies and dies that have been adopted as per CSL APQP And Die Buy off procedures- Assists development and troubleshooting of die protection systemsInitial Qualifications for Hire:- Min. 5 years supervisory experience, tool room experience, tool and die C of Q an asset,- knowledge of blanking and forming tooling- Proficient in blue print reading and GDT- organizational skills, communication skills- computer literate- university or college degree in related sciences an asset- Tool and Die shop/metal stampings background- 6 Sigma or other qualifications and asset.Pay: $65,****** - $100,****** per monthWork Location: In person
