Job Description: Position Summary: Performs a variety of professional level engineering duties.
Test Engineers create and implement test cases, including documenting defects and failures, to ensure a quality product.Primary ResponsibilitiesSets up, programs, and runs test lab equipmentDesigns tests to ensure customer specifications are metProvides feedback to Program Engineering, R&D; Engineering, and Advanced Engineering on tests requestedPerforms failure analysis on tests that do not pass test specificationsTroubleshoots lab equipment failures and help to resolve issues quicklyPrepares test reports for external and internal customersProvides feedback on test results to external customers and be available to attend customer meetingsWorks with Lab Technicians with a goal of minimizing LTR's past dueEnsure the accuracy and consistency of data results through thorough documentation processesMust operate in a manner that reinforces, supports and is consistent with the Cooper Standard Leadership ModelEnsures 6S, housekeeping, and health & safety standards are maintainedContracting, scheduling, and supervising tests with sub‐contracting facilitiesMay, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this descriptionEducation and QualificationsFour Year College or University Degree or equivalentTwo to four years of relevant work experienceFabrication, blueprint reading skills,
and equipment knowledge preferredKnowledge of statisticsStrong mechanical aptitude, as well as technical and analytical problem‐solving skillsSkills or working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systemsGood interpersonal skills to work effectively with others in a team environmentProficient in Microsoft Office applicationsGood verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational skillsRecognizes and solves typical problems that can occur in own work area without supervisory approval; evaluates and selects solutions from established alternativesImpacts own team through the quality of the services or information provided; follows standardized procedures and practices and receives regular but moderate supervision and guidanceExchanges information and seeks understandingWillingness and ability to travel, as necessaryPosition TypeRegularAdditional InformationRemote Status: On‐siteCooper Standard, headquartered in Northville, Mich.
