Our client school is seeking a
Deputy Head of School
for an academy in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico with a forward-thinking vision to assist in leading the school and its students to meet international learning goals.
Please Note:
that this job description is in the development stages as this is a newly created position, modifications may be made in the process.
220 students currently - Currently Early Childhood, Primary and Middle School, (will eventually add HS)
The successful candidate will possess the following:
· A Master's degree in Educational Leadership with whole school leadership experience
· Excellent administrative skills with a strong educational foundation in K-12 type school(s)
· Strong understanding of the needs and support for core academics
· The ability to build well-functioning, thought provoking, evidence driven and supported learning programs
· Vertical alignment of programs, experiences and curriculum
· Inquiry based Primary education with future potential to become a PYP accredited primary
· Project based approach to learning about the world around us throughout the school
· Engaging students in the environment and society around themselves locally, nationally and internationally
· Challenging students to think critically about their place in the world and how they can contribute
Ability to introduce the world to students by allowing them to observe, question, make conclusions and take action, based on informed inquiry
Ability to carry out administrative responsibilities such as:
· Making professional decisions and professional planning
· Ability to manage the finances and executive procedures of an exclusive and elite private school
· Ability to create policies to support a well-functioning learning environment inside of the school
· Ability to work in a diverse international community with many cultures and many languages and meet the needs of the students as well as the needs of the greater community
· Ability to speak, read, write and listen in English and Spanish on a professional level is an advantage; professional level English is required (C1 or C2)
· Ability to manage, coach and support educators in a positive and supportive environment
