we are looking for a senior bi platform specialist & architect to join our americas team, with a focus on latam operations based in mexico city. This is a hybrid role that combines strategic advisory, governance, and technical expertise, requiring someone who can operate effectively across business, product, and technical teams

you will be the power bi subject matter expert for latam, playing a key role in shaping the bi strategy, enabling users across the region, and ensuring the platform operates at its best.

what you will do

strategic & governance (60%)

- partner with the governance team to define and drive the power bi strategy across latam, including workspace organization, report lifecycle, and adoption standards
- act as a bi architect, providing guidance on platform architecture, design decisions, and long-term scalability of bi solutions
- conduct workspace and report assessments to ensure alignment with governance policies and best practices
- act as the power bi expert in cross-functional meetings with product teams, business stakeholders, and the cdao organization
- collaborate with the general data team on governance initiatives, new releases, and platform updates, acting as the latam voice in global conversations
- support the operations team in monitoring and managing power bi premium capacity to ensure optimal performance and availability
- lead monthly training sessions for data users/teams across latam and deliver specific enablement workshops on a quarterly basis
- drive self-service adoption by promoting best practices, standards, and toolsets across the widest possible audience
- identify and proactively communicate technical risks that may impact service levels or timelines

technical (40%)

- develop internal tools, dashboards and reports to support team needs and strategic initiatives
- build and participate in proof of concepts (pocs) to evaluate new capabilities and approaches
- execute and optimize sql queries, interpret views,



and assess query performance across data platforms
- work with gcp/bigquery for data retrieval, storage, and distribution
- evaluate and implement improved reporting and data visualization tools, keeping up with emerging bi trends and technologies
- leverage ai tools and assistants in day-to-day tasks to improve productivity, automate repetitive work, and accelerate delivery

what you will need to succeed

technical requirements

- 5-8 years of experience in a data & bi role
- expert-level knowledge of power bi, including: advanced dax, data modeling, premium capacity and platform management, performance analysis
- medium to high proficiency in sql, ability to write and optimize queries, understand views and performance across various databases
- medium to high experience with gcp, particularly bigquery and azure services
- experience with data warehousing concepts and implementation
- experience launching new data & bi solutions in a corporate environment
- demonstrated use of ai-powered tools (e.g. Github copilot, chatgpt, claude, or similar) to support daily tasks, enhance productivity, and solve problems more efficiently
- experience with data visualization tools such as looker or tableau, and/or semantic layer platforms such as atscale, kyvos, or similar is a plus
