The Staff Accountant will manage month-end close for a portfolio of small business clients, working closely with an Advisor to keep client accounts accurate and up to date, while also contributing to the firm's broader systems and processes.

What You'll Do
- Core Responsibilities for Our Clients
- Complete month-end close procedures for 15-25 small business clients, to include:
- Categorizing transactions
- Reconciling bank & credit card accounts, loan balances and payroll
- Creating and modifying journal entries
- Communicating with clients about questions within their accounts
- Preparing balance sheets and profit and loss statements and reviewing for reasonableness
- Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
- Supports Advisor during client meetings to document, send client recaps, and execute resulting action items
- Performs other related duties and project work as assigned
- Core Responsibilities for the Firm
- Learns and maintains company software systems and processes as directed
What You Bring
- 2-3+ years of QuickBooks Online experience required
- Experience and comfort utilizing cloud-based software and tools like Notion, Slack, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word) required
- Degree in Accounting strongly preferred
- QuickBooks Pro Advisor Certification preferred
- Experience with Double (formerly Keeper) and Canopy, or similar, a plus
- At least 2 years of customer/client service experience
- A proactive and curious nature, willing and excited to learn and ask questions
- Strong interest in software and technology
- Excellent communication skills: the ability to know when, what and who to communicate with
- Organization skills: ability to track and manage own work and communicate personal capacity
- Professional: ability to look professional in a remote setting, use professional language in emails and meetings, and garner respect from team members and clients
- Independent self-starter: ability to self-motivate, set and attain goals, and proactively pursue learning and certifications
- A Day in the Life
- Work on closing the books for some of your clients
- Meeting with your team to discuss priorities, roadblocks, answer questions, etc.
- Attend a client meeting, where you will take notes, send client recaps, and complete related action items

- The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with TLNT.
