position summary:

performs a variety of professional level engineering duties. Test engineers create and implement test cases, including documenting defects and failures, to ensure a quality product.

primary responsibilities

- sets up, programs, and runs test lab equipment
- designs tests to ensure customer specifications are met
- provides feedback to program engineering, r&d; engineering, and advanced engineering on tests requested
- performs failure analysis on tests that do not pass test specifications
- troubleshoots lab equipment failures and help to resolve issues quickly
- prepares test reports for external and internal customers
- provides feedback on test results to external customers and be available to attend customer meetings
- works with lab technicians with a goal of minimizing ltr’s past due
- ensure the accuracy and consistency of data results through thorough documentation processes
- must operate in a manner that reinforces, supports and is consistent with the cooper standard leadership model
- ensures 6s, housekeeping, and health & safety standards are maintained
- contracting, scheduling, and supervising tests with sub‑contracting facilities
- may,

education and qualifications

- four year college or university degree or equivalent
- two to four years of relevant work experience
- fabrication, blueprint reading skills, and equipment knowledge preferred
- knowledge of statistics
- strong mechanical aptitude, as well as technical and analytical problem‑solving skills
- skills or working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
- good interpersonal skills to work effectively with others in a team environment
- proficient in microsoft office applications
- good verbal and written communication skills
- strong organizational skills
- recognizes and solves typical problems that can occur in own work area without supervisory approval; evaluates and selects solutions from established alternatives
- impacts own team through the quality of the services or information provided; follows standardized procedures and practices and receives regular but moderate supervision and guidance
