About the Company
Credit Saison Mexico, S.A. de C.V., SOFOM, E.N.R. ("CSMX") is a member of Credit Saison (CS) Group, a large Japanese non-bank with an AUM of USD $30bn engaging in credit card issuing/acquiring, SME financing, real estate financing, and various Fintech investments and alternative impact finance. About the Role The Senior Analyst will be part of Credit Saison México’s Investments team, with a primary focus on the analysis and execution of private credit transactions.
The role will work closely with a Deal Lead and other Investments team members across financial modeling, credit analysis, portfolio analysis, due diligence, investment materials, and Credit Committee preparation. The Senior Analyst is expected to independently own significant analytical workstreams and develop clear conclusions that support the overall investment recommendation.
What You Will Do
- Support the execution of private credit transactions, including information review, analysis, due diligence, and preparation of investment materials.
- Conduct detailed financial, business, credit, and portfolio analysis to assess borrower performance, repayment capacity, key risks, and transaction viability.
- Build, adapt, and maintain financial models, including cash flow projections, stress scenarios, collateral coverage, transaction life-span analysis,
and structured credit cash flows.
- Analyze portfolio performance through delinquency trends, vintage and cohort analysis, concentrations, eligibility criteria, and other transaction-specific metrics.
- Review large portfolio and loan-level datasets, identify inconsistencies and key trends, and translate findings into clear analytical conclusions.
- Prepare assigned sections of the Credit Approval Memorandum and supporting analysis.
- Develop due diligence questions based on financial, portfolio, and transaction analysis and participate in desk and on-site due diligence.
- Support the assessment of transaction structures, collateral protections, financial covenants, eligibility criteria, and other structural safeguards.
- Respond to analytical questions from Risk and other internal stakeholders and update analysis as required.
- Support preparation for Credit Committee, including presentation materials, supporting models, and responses to committee questions.
Decision-Making and Escalation The Senior Analyst is expected to independently manage assigned analytical workstreams, identify material data gaps or credit concerns, and develop clear conclusions for review by the Deal Lead.
Material credit concerns, inconsistencies that may affect the investment recommendation, significant modeling assumptions, and issues requiring commercial or structural judgment should be escalated to the Deal Lead and VP of Investments.
What You Will Bring (Skills & Qualifications)
- Approximately 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in credit analysis, structured finance, rating agencies, investment banking, private credit, corporate banking, specialty finance, or a related field.
- Strong financial modeling skills, particularly in cash flow forecasting,
stress testing, collateral analysis, transaction repayment scenarios, and structured credit.
- Strong financial statement and credit analysis skills, including profitability, leverage, liquidity, funding, repayment capacity, and business risk assessment.
- Ability to analyze portfolio-level and loan-level data, including delinquency, concentrations, vintage performance, and credit trends.
- Strong analytical writing skills and the ability to explain financial and credit conclusions clearly.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to reconcile data across multiple information sources.
- Ability to manage multiple analytical workstreams and deadlines with limited supervision.
- Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Accounting, or a related field.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with private debt, structured finance, secured lending, asset-backed, or receivables-based transactions.
- Experience building or maintaining transaction cash flow, collateral coverage, borrowing base, waterfall, or similar structured credit models.
- Experience with vintage, cohort, stress, or sensitivity analysis.
- Familiarity with financial institutions, FinTechs, SOFOMs, leasing companies, or specialty lenders in Mexico.
- Experience working with large portfolio datasets or loan-level information.
- Python, SQL, CFA, or other relevant technical or professional qualifications are a plus.
