About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack AI Engineer to join a US-based startup building an AI-powered back-office platform for the skilled trades.

This is a highly hands-on engineering role for someone who can own systems end-to-end — from modern React and React Native product experiences to Node.js services, AI agents, RAG/search, integrations, and production infrastructure.

The adecuado candidate is a strong product engineer who has already shipped production full-stack systems and has meaningful hands-on experience building AI/LLM-powered features.

What You’ll Build

- New product screens and workflows for jobs, customers, invoicing, scheduling, and other business operations using React and React Native
- AI-powered chat experiences including streaming responses, tool-result rendering, human review, and feedback loops
- Production AI workflows including tool-using agents, RAG/search, classification, extraction, and human-in-the-loop systems
- Backend APIs and services using Node.js and TypeScript
- Business automations powered by AI
- Integrations and data ingestion from third-party APIs, webhooks, and files
- Evaluation and monitoring systems for AI workflows, including regression testing, quality metrics, drift detection, and cost/latency tracking
- Scalable systems involving queues, orchestration, retries, data modeling, and API design
- Reliable and polished user experiences with attention to performance, loading states, accessibility, and edge cases

Responsibilities
- Analyze product and business requirements and propose practical, AI-native technical solutions
- Design and ship full-stack features across React, React Native, Node.js, and AI services
- Build clean, scalable, production-ready code
- Design and implement LLM-powered workflows and AI integrations
- Test, deploy, monitor, and optimize production systems
- Evaluate AI-generated solutions critically rather than relying on them blindly




- Troubleshoot production issues and maintain system reliability
- Collaborate directly with product leaders and subject-matter experts
- Mentor other engineers and contribute to technical and architectural decisions
- Understand user needs and translate them into effective product experiences

Required Experience
- Strong experience building and shipping production full-stack applications with end-to-end ownership
- Strong React and TypeScript fundamentals
- Strong backend development experience with Node.js
- Experience designing and consuming REST and/or GraphQL APIs
- Hands-on experience building LLM-powered features in production
- Experience with AI architectures such as RAG, retrieval, reranking, agents, tool calling, or AI workflows
- Experience with modern databases such as PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and CI/CD
- Ability to work across frontend, backend, AI, databases, and infrastructure when necessary
- Strong system-design and problem-solving skills
- Ability to reason through unfamiliar technical problems in real time
- Strong English communication skills for daily collaboration with a US-based team
