ServiceNow Architect
Role Description The ServiceNow Architect is responsible for designing, governing, and guiding end-to-end ServiceNow solutions that align with business objectives, technical standards, and enterprise architecture principles. This role provides technical leadership across ServiceNow implementations, ensuring scalable, secure, and sustainable platform solutions.
The architect will work closely with business stakeholders, project managers, developers, and technical teams to translate business and operational requirements into robust ServiceNow architectures. The role also provides technical direction throughout implementation, oversees solution quality, conducts design reviews, and establishes best practices and governance across ServiceNow initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and govern enterprise ServiceNow platform and solution architecture.
- Design scalable ServiceNow solutions across ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, CSDM, and related capabilities.
- Translate business requirements and operational needs into technical architectures, workflows, data models, and platform solutions.
- Lead ServiceNow architecture and design decisions across multiple projects and workstreams.
- Define and maintain CMDB, CSDM, service models, service taxonomy, and service mapping strategies.
- Design and oversee integrations between ServiceNow and third-party, enterprise, and legacy systems using APIs and other integration technologies.
- Provide technical guidance on ServiceNow configuration, scripting, custom applications, and platform extensions.
- Conduct architecture and solution design reviews to ensure quality, scalability, security, and alignment with enterprise standards.
- Establish and enforce ServiceNow governance, architecture standards, and best practices.
- Collaborate with project and program teams to support planning,
prioritization, resource alignment, roadmaps, and delivery.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies, and opportunities for platform optimization.
- Ensure consistency and technical alignment across multiple ServiceNow projects and workstreams.
- Produce and maintain architecture documentation, technical specifications, and solution design documentation.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to ServiceNow development and implementation teams.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, ServiceNow, ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, or related technology environments.
- Strong experience defining ServiceNow platform architecture and enterprise solution architecture .
- Proven experience with ITOM, CMDB, CSDM, and service modeling , including CSDM-aligned service structures and taxonomies.
- Strong understanding of ServiceNow architecture, governance, platform capabilities, and technical standards.
- Hands-on ServiceNow development experience, including scripting, configuration, custom application development, workflows, and platform extensions.
- Strong experience designing and managing system integrations , APIs, data flows, and connections between ServiceNow and third-party or legacy systems.
- Experience translating business requirements into technical designs, workflows, data models, and scalable platform solutions.
- Experience with ITSM processes, ITOM capabilities, CMDB, service mapping,
service ownership, and governance.
- Strong understanding of ITIL or similar IT service management frameworks.
- Demonstrated project and program management capabilities, including planning, prioritization, stakeholder communication, roadmap development, and delivery oversight.
- Strong experience working across multiple technical and business workstreams.
- Excellent communication, documentation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in remote and cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- ServiceNow certifications such as Certified System Administrator (CSA), Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS), Certified Application Developer (CAD), or relevant architecture certifications are highly beneficial.
- MSP experience is strongly preferred.

The architect will be responsible for making sound architecture decisions, validating solution designs, maintaining alignment with enterprise standards, and ensuring high-quality ServiceNow delivery across the organization.
