This Manager position is responsible for providing security management across Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile and Brazil and security oversight and guidance for owned and operated and contract manufacturing sites in the region. The position will be based out of Mexico City, MX with frequent travel to Monterrey. The Manager will develop, implement, and continually drive compliance with Mattel Global Security policies, procedures, & best practices as well as customer and government security requirements at various offices, manufacturing plants, and warehouses. Functionally, the position overseas aspects of site security operations and electronic security systems, security audits and assessments, security vendor management, and incident/crisis management. The Manager will support and implement the travel risk management program in assigned geographies and develop security related training and awareness programs for the region.
- ** PHYSICAL SECURITY**: Provide strategic and tactical direction and advisory services to Mattel LATAM businesses, facilities, and 3PL to ensure appropriate and effective deployment of security resources, security personnel, security systems, and security-related infrastructure. Coordinate compliance and security management for C-TPAT & AEO.
- ** IP PROTECTION & PRODUCT SECURITY**: Develop and implement effective security controls for Restricted Access Products, high-value products, IP, trade secrets, and other special projects and manufacturing processes.
- ** RISK MANAGEMENT**: Embed security practices, procedures, and processes into Mattel business and operational functions.
- ** INCIDENT & CRISIS MANAGEMENT**: Ensure proper documenting and reporting of all potential or vigente security incidents, threats, and crimes impacting all sites under management. Respond in a timely and effective manner to crisis situations and emergencies.
- ** TRAINING & AWARENESS**: Develop and administer training and awareness programs covering: Office and travel security, crisis management, loss prevention, product security, and C-TPAT & AEO compliance.
- ** INVESTIGATIONS**: Assist in conducting investigations into security incidents including thefts, resale of stolen goods, violence, and product/production related fraud and integrity issues.
**OVERALL GOALS**: Support the safety and security of Mattel personnel across LATAM. Protect the corporate reputation. Ensure compliance with CTPAT Programs. Reduce cargo high jackings. Reduce dollar value loss. Improve quality of security operations and deliverables. Increase compliance with corporate and external security requirements. Drive security standardization across Mattel sites in LATAM and relevant warehouse, and manufacturing.
Reduce risks and harms from critical incidents and external events.
- Educational requirements: BA/BS (4-Year relevant College/University Degree) with appropriate vocational training.
- Native or fluent Spanish with English as a Second Language
- High level of integrity
- 8 years' progressive work experience in corporate/private sector in security and investigations management function, including 3-5 years’ experience within Latin America
- Five years’ experience supporting corporate security, investigations, executive protection, and asset protection, particularly in LATAM
- Working knowledge of supply chain security standards (AEO, C-TPAT, TAPA TSR & FSR)
- Solid understanding of security operations, security procedures, and electronic security systems. Ability to develop, champion and implement security policies, procedures, and standards across a multi-site footprint
- Strong understanding of security and operational risks facing multinational organizations operating in LATAM. Ability to thoroughly assess and anticipate potential risks and propose appropriate mitigation solutions
- Experience conducting complex confidential internal and external investigations, particularly in LATAM
- Critical-thinking skills & problem-solving ability
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to manage and develop teams of people. Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures. Ability to develop productive relationships and partnerships across the organization
