RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data migration requirements and objectives.
2. Design, develop, and execute data migration strategies to ensure seamless transition from legacy systems to Syscon's offender management software.
3. Write complex SQL queries and optimize database performance for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
4. Develop and maintain Python scripts for data manipulation, transformation, and automation tasks.
5. Perform data mapping and schema mapping activities to ensure accurate and efficient data migration.
6. Troubleshoot data migration issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
7. Conduct thorough testing of data migration processes to validate accuracy, completeness, and integrity of migrated data.
8. Document data migration processes, workflows, and technical specifications for future reference and knowledge sharing.
9. Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and clients during the data migration process.
10. Stay updated on emerging technologies,



best practices, and trends in data migration, SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Python, and AI to continuously enhance skills and knowledge.
11. Pentaho ETL tool, JavaScript, Java experience good to have.
**REQUIREMENTS**:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
2. Proven experience in data migration projects - minimum 5yrs experience - preferably in the criminal justice or law enforcement domain.
3. Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and Oracle.
4. Strong programming skills in Python with the ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
5. Hands-on experience with data mapping tools and techniques outside Excel.
6. Familiarity with AI concepts and technologies is a plus.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
9. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet project deadlines.
10. Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving requirements and priorities.
