About the Role

We are seeking a Database Administrator with strong MySQL experience to support a major U.S.-based education technology company.

This position focuses on the administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, performance, availability, backup, recovery,



and continuous improvement of production database environments.

The adecuado candidate has hands‑on experience supporting MySQL databases in production and understands database performance, SQL troubleshooting, indexing, replication, high availability, backup and restore procedures, and incident resolution.

Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support production MySQL database environments.
- Monitor database availability, performance, capacity, security, and resource utilization.
- Troubleshoot slow queries, locking, connections, indexing, memory, CPU, storage, and database performance issues.
- Analyze SQL queries and execution plans and recommend performance improvements.
- Manage database upgrades, patching, maintenance, and configuration changes.
- Support backup, restore, disaster recovery, replication, and high-availability procedures.
- Investigate database incidents and participate in root cause analysis.
