Job Summary
The International Logistics Manager oversees all inbound and outbound logistics operations across all World Emblem facilities, ensuring efficient transportation, customs compliance, and the timely delivery of materials and finished goods. This role leads cross-border logistics and trade compliance across Mexico, the United States, Canada, and the Dominican Republic, while supporting strategy for future regional expansion. Working closely with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and internal teams, you will optimize shipping routes, control transportation costs, and maintain regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics Operations
- Oversee all domestic and international inbound/outbound shipments across North America and the Caribbean.
- Monitor shipment progress and resolve transit, customs, or delivery exceptions proactively.
- Evaluate and select optimal shipping methods, carriers, and routing.
- Manage intercompany loans, equipment transfers, and temporary import/export movements.
Foreign Trade & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with IMMEX, USMCA, VAT certifications, Annex 24 & 30, and Mexican foreign trade regulations.
- Maintain and reconcile temporary import inventory control systems and ACAF fixed asset records in alignment with Finance and regulatory bodies.
- Coordinate directly with customs brokers to ensure accurate customs entries and proper documentation for all cross-border shipments.
- Lead preparation, ongoing monitoring,
and support for internal/external audits and annual regulatory renewals (IMMEX, IVA/VAT, Safety Matrix Data Stage).
Carrier & Cost Management
- Manage vendor relationships with freight carriers, logistics providers, and customs brokers.
- Negotiate rates, service agreements, and continuously evaluate carrier performance.
- Track key logistics KPIs including on-time delivery, total freight spend, customs clearance timelines, and duties/tariffs.
- Identify continuous improvement initiatives to optimize operations and reduce freight expenditure.
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the logistics team (Logistics Coordinators, Specialists, and Assistants).
- Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs/BWIs) and documentation for all logistics workflows.
- Partner closely with Procurement, Operations, Warehouse, Finance, and Accounting to align shipping schedules, material flow, and invoice processing.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in international logistics, import/export operations, or supply chain management.
- Compliance Knowledge: Proven experience with IMMEX programs, USMCA, temporary import mechanisms, and foreign trade regulations.
- Language: Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and foreign trade inventory management software.
- Leadership & Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, problem-solving capability, and experience managing direct reports in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
