Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning

- Plan and deliver engaging, structured, and challenging Mathematics lessons aligned with the school's curriculum.
- Develop students' understanding of mathematical concepts, procedures, reasoning, and problem-solving strategies.
- Promote logical, analytical, and critical thinking.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies to address different learning styles, levels, and individual needs.
- Provide opportunities for students to apply mathematical knowledge to real-life situations.
- Integrate appropriate technology and digital resources to enhance learning.
- Foster students' independence, perseverance, confidence, and resilience when approaching mathematical challenges.
- Differentiate instruction and provide appropriate support and extension activities according to students' needs.

Curriculum and Planning

- Implement the established curriculum and ensure appropriate progression of mathematical knowledge and skills across grade levels.
- Develop effective lesson plans, learning activities, and teaching resources.
- Participate in curriculum review and improvement processes.
- Collaborate with other Mathematics teachers to ensure consistency and continuity across the academic programme.
- Where applicable, align teaching and assessment practices with Cambridge Lower Secondary and/or Cambridge IGCSE requirements.

Assessment and Student Progress

- Design and implement formative and summative assessments to monitor student learning.
- Provide timely, specific, and constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student achievement and progress.
- Analyse academic results to identify strengths, learning gaps, and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement intervention strategies for students requiring additional academic support.
- Provide enrichment and appropriately challenging activities for high-achieving students.

Classroom Management and Student Wellbeing

- Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
- Promote respect, responsibility, collaboration, and active student participation.
- Establish clear expectations regarding academic performance and classroom behaviour.
- Support students' academic, social, and emotional wellbeing.
- Identify and report situations that may affect students' wellbeing or academic performance in accordance with school procedures.

Communication and Collaboration

- Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues regarding academic progress and student development.
- Collaborate with other Mathematics teachers to share resources, strategies, and best practices.




- Actively participate in department meetings, planning sessions, professional development, and school activities.
- Work collaboratively with the Personalised Learning Team and other specialists when students require additional support.
- Participate in parent meetings and academic conferences when required.

Professional Development

- Actively participate in professional development and training programmes.
- Stay current with Mathematics teaching methodologies, curriculum developments, assessment practices, and educational technology.
- Continuously reflect on teaching practice and implement strategies to improve student outcomes.
- Contribute to departmental and school-wide academic improvement initiatives.

Safeguarding and Compliance

- Promote and safeguard the wellbeing of all students.
- Comply with institutional policies regarding Safeguarding, Child Protection, Health and Safety, Inclusion, and Student Wellbeing.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with students.
- Report any concern regarding student safety, protection, or wellbeing through the appropriate institutional channels.

- Strong knowledge of Mathematics and secondary-level teaching methodologies.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Strong logical reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to explain complex mathematical concepts clearly and effectively.
- Ability to differentiate instruction according to students' individual needs and abilities.
- Strong assessment and academic data analysis skills.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Education, Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Valid teaching qualification and professional credentials.
- Advanced English proficiency, where required for a bilingual or international school environment.
- Cambridge training or certification is desirable.
- Training in differentiated instruction, assessment, or inclusive education is desirable.
- Master's degree in Education,



Mathematics Education, or a related field is desirable.

Experience

- Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching Mathematics at Secondary School level.
- Experience working with students with different academic abilities and learning needs.
- Experience developing lesson plans, assessments, and academic intervention strategies.
- Experience in bilingual or international schools is desirable.
- Experience with Cambridge Lower Secondary and/or Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics is desirable.
- Experience preparing students for external examinations is an advantage.
- Experience using digital tools and educational technology to support Mathematics instruction.
