Job SummaryThe Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records in QuickBooks for four separate legal entities, including one nonprofit organization.
This role manages day‐to‐day accounting, ensures proper segregation of activity by entity, performs financial analysis, prepares management reporting, and supports compliance, audits, and decision‐making across the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral AccountingMaintain complete and accurate accounting records in QuickBooks for four distinct legal entities, ensuring proper entity, class, and fund segregation.Record daily financial transactions including bank activity, journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and intercompany activity.Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts for each entity.Banking & ReconciliationsPerform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations for all entities.Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.Maintain appropriate documentation for all cash transactions.Accounts Payable & ReceivableProcess vendor bills, payments, and employee reimbursements.Create and record customer invoices, receipts, and deposits.Monitor receivable balances and follow up on outstanding amounts as needed.Intercompany AccountingRecord, track, and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances among the entities.Ensure intercompany activity is properly documented and eliminated as required for reporting purposes.Nonprofit AccountingMaintain nonprofit financial records in accordance with applicable accounting standards.Track restricted and unrestricted funds, grants, and donations.Ensure accurate expense classification by program, administrative, and fundraising categories.Assist with reporting for nonprofit leadership, grantors,



and regulatory requirements.Month‐End ClosePerform monthly and year‐end close activities for all entities.Prepare and review balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow reports.Ensure timely and accurate close with appropriate reconciliations and documentation.Financial Analysis & ReportingPrepare financial reports and management summaries for each legal entity.Analyze monthly financial results, identify trends, and explain variances versus budget, prior periods, or expectations.Develop entity‐level and consolidated reporting to support leadership decision‐making.Provide cash flow analysis and forecasting support as requested.Assist with budgeting and financial planning activities across entities.Compliance & DocumentationEnsure compliance with internal accounting policies and applicable regulations.Maintain organized financial records to support audits, reviews, and tax filings.Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax preparers.Process ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and system efficiency within QuickBooks.Help standardize accounting practices and reporting across all entities.Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field3–5 years of accounting experienceExperience managing multiple legal entitiesStrong hands‐on experience with QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop)Skills & KnowledgeStrong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reportingExperience with nonprofit accounting and fund trackingAdvanced Excel skillsStrong analytical and problem‐solving abilitiesHigh attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage multiple entities and deadlines simultaneouslyClear written and verbal communication skillsSalary: $50,000Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm HomeOfficeLegal Benefits
