Role Summary
The Cash Application Accountant is responsible for managing and maintaining the company financial transactions related to cash and bank activities.
This role requires a meticulous attention to detail, strong numerical skills, and the ability to work accurately under pressureResponsibilitiesOwn and drive the unapplied cash resolution and reporting in the respective regionPro‐active identification and correction of cash application issuesProvide operational help and guidance to team members, act as first escalation pointResponsible for complex query resolution in the respective regionResponsible for accuracy and timeliness of daily cash reportingStakeholder interaction and managementTraining and mentoring new and existing team membersTimely and accurate application of cash to third party and intercompany customer accounts in line with the processes and procedures set for Accounts ReceivableContact customers with payment related queries via email and phoneMaintain documentation as per internal controls & SOX audit requirements as neededPrepare and ensure timely completion of month end close reportsPrepare 3rd party commission calculation and accrual where applicableCreate and maintain Desktop ProceduresManage user access requests for the teamBlackline superuser for own areaActive participation in transitions, projects, process improvement initiatives and auditsEnsure compliance with Flowserve policies, US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as defined by Flowserve (GAAP), Sarbanes‐Oxley (SOX) and local statutory laws and regulations and that business is conducted within Flowserve ethical code of business conduct.Qualifications3-5 years relevant experienceExperience checking bank statement, allocating moneyExperience handling client future paymentsEconomics/Finance related Secondary Studies or Bachelor's Degree is an advantageExcellent verbal and written communication skills in English and any other language (as per required in role)Ability to build effective relationships with customers and stakeholdersIntermediate user of MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point)Knowledge and experience using ERP systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP)Strong analytical research and problem‐solving skills with keen attention to detailSupportive attitude and good interpersonal skill setEmbraces and drives changePreferredContinuous improvement mindset (LEAN Six Sigma is an advantage)Flowserve is a world‐leading manufacturer and aftermarket service provider of comprehensive flow control systems.
