**Bilingual Educational Psychologist - Psychology Department & Classroom Support**
**Colegio IMI (Instituto México Inglés) | Zapopan, Jalisco**
**Location**: Cvln. Medas 488-A, Altamira, 45160 Zapopan, Jalisco
Two blocks from Plaza Patria, near Bosque Los Colomos.
**Schedule**: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
**Position**: Full-time, on-site
**Essential Requirements**:
We are specifically looking for a professional with a:
**Bachelor’s Degree in Educational Psychology (Licenciatura en Psicología Educativa).**
- **Professional degree and valid professional license (Título y cédula cualificado).**:
- **Advanced English proficiency**, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and the academic team in English.
- Preferably **2 years of experience in a school or educational setting**.
- Experience working with Kidnergarten, Elementary & Middle Shool.
- Knowledge of educational psychology, child and adolescent development, classroom observation, socio-emotional development, behavior management, and psychopedagogical intervention.
- Ability to work directly **inside the classroom**, supporting teachers and students.
- Ability to collaborate with students, teachers, families, Academic Coordination, and the Educational Psychology Department.
- Excellent communication, conflict-management, organization, documentation, and teamwork skills.
- High professional standards regarding confidentiality and sensitive student information.
**Main Purpose of the Position**:
The **Bilingual Educational Psychologist** will be part of IMI’s Educational Psychology Department, working directly with the department leader to support students’ **learning, behavior, socio-emotional development, self-regulation, and overall school well-being**.
This is an **educational psychology position,
not a clinical therapy role**.
An important part of the position involves working directly **inside classrooms**, observing students, supporting teachers, implementing educational and behavioral strategies, identifying needs, documenting observations, and following up on students who require additional support.
The goal is to **prevent, observe, support, intervene, document, and follow up**, always within the professional scope of Educational Psychology and the school’s institutional protocols.
**Main Responsibilities**:
- Support the Educational Psychology Department in the follow-up of students with academic, behavioral, emotional, or social needs.
- Assist the department leader in the implementation and monitoring of the **Heedfulness program**.
- Conduct classroom observations to identify attention, self-regulation, behavioral, social, emotional, or learning-related needs.
- Work directly inside classrooms as a **support professional for teachers and students**.
- Assist students who require additional guidance to participate successfully in classroom activities.
- Support teachers in implementing practical strategies for classroom management, behavior, attention, emotional regulation, and student participation.
- Provide individual or small-group educational and socio-emotional support when required and under the coordination of the department.
- Participate in conflict mediation between students and promote healthy relationships, respectful communication, and problem-solving.
- Support the identification, documentation, referral, and follow-up of students who may require additional intervention.
- Collaborate with teachers and Academic Coordination to develop strategies based on classroom observations and student needs.
- Maintain clear records of observations, interventions, agreements, referrals, and student progress.
- Communicate relevant findings professionally to the Educational Psychology Department.
- Collaborate with families when required and under the department’s established procedures.
- Participate in preventive programs related to school coexistence, socio-emotional development, bullying prevention, values, healthy decision-making, and student well-being.
- Follow institutional protocols for the prevention, identification, documentation, referral, and follow-up of situations involving student safety or well-being.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and professional boundaries.
**Classroom Support**:
A significant part of this position involves **active classroom participation**.
The Educational Psychologist will:
- Observe students in their natural learning environment.
- Support teachers without replacing their role or authority.
- Help students develop attention, organization, autonomy, emotional regulation, and positive classroom behaviors.
- Support students during transitions, collaborative activities, projects, and other school routines.
- Help prevent behavioral difficulties through observation and early intervention.
- Identify patterns and possible barriers affecting learning or participation.
- Provide teachers with practical strategies based on observed needs.
